AN ORDINANCE DEFINING CERTAIN ACTS AS MISDEMEANORS.
THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAPLEWOOD DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Sec. 1. Any person, or persons, who shall appear upon the streets or alleys
of Maplewood or any public place, public park, or any building open to the public
such as a school, stadium, theater, arena, fairgrounds or other public place, or in
any privately owned place which is open to the public, in a state of open and notorious
intoxication shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
Sec. 2. No person shall, upon the public streets, lanes or alleys of the
Village of Maplewood, or being a trespasser upon the private premises of another,
drink beer or other intoxicating beverages.
Sec. 3. Any person, or persons, who shall be found lurking, lying in wait
or concealed in any house or other building, or in any yard or premises within the
limits of the Village of Maplewood, with intent to do any mischief or to steal or to
commit any offense prohibited by the laws of this State or the ordinances of this
Village shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
Sec. 4. Any person who shall trespass upon private property in the nighttime
for the purpose of prowling, window peeping or other unauthorized invasion of the
rights of the owner of such property shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
Sec. 5. Any person, or persons, who shall make, aid or countenance, or assist
in making any noise, riot, disturbance or improper diversion, to the annoyance or
disturbance of the citizens, or other person, or persons, in the Villageof Maplewood;
or, who collect in bodies or crowds in any street or public place in said Village so
as to obstruct public travel thereon, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
Sec. 6. Any person, or persons, who shall appear in any street or public
place in the Village of Maplewood in a state of nudity, or in any indecent or lewd
dress, or shall make any indecent exposure of his or her person, or be guilty of any

obscene or filthy act, or of any lewd, indecent, immoral or insulting conduct,
language or behavior, or shall exhibit, sell, or offer to sell, any indecent or lewd
book, picture or other thing, or shall exhibit or perform any indecent, immoral or
lewd play or other representation, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
Sec. 7. Any person, or persons, who have no visible means of support and live
idly without employment or who have no settled place of abode or loiter about in bars,
taverns and other public places; and, any person found trespassing on the private
premises of others and not being able to account for his, or her, conduct shall be
deemed a vagrant and shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
Sec. 8. Any person who lays hands upon another so as to constitute simple
assault as defined in the laws of the State of A.2innesota shall be guilty of a mis-
demeanor.
Sec. 9. Any person who in committing any of the misdemeanors herein defined
or who violates) any traffic law of this State or violates any provision of

Ordinance o. of the Village of Maplewood and who, while being apprehended therefor
by a police officer or any other person authorized to arrest, fails to stop on command
of such arresting officer or person or attempts to flee from the custody of such
arresting officer or person, or otherwise resists arrest, shall be guilty of a mis-
demeanor.
Sec. 10. Any person who aids, abets or encourages any minor to violate the
provisions of any ordinance of the Village of Maplewood shall be deemed to have
contributed to the delinquency of a minor and shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
Sec. 11. Any person who unlawfully takes possession of the property of any
person, firm or corporation by theft, burglary, shoplifting or in any other unlawful
manner, when such property so taken is equal in value to an amount less than °25.00,
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.

Sec. 12. Any person convicted of a violation of the foregoing provisions of
this Ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not less than $5.00 nor more than
$45,40 or by imprisonment for not more than ninety (90) days for each offense.
