A. CALL TO ORDER
A meeting of the City Council was held in the City Hall Council Chambers and was called to order
at 5:00 p.m. by Mayor Longrie.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Acting City Manager, Chuck Ahl stated a late request came in to interview Kevin Berglund for the
opening to serve on the Environmental and Natural Resources Commission. Staff indicated to Mr.
Berglund that there may not be enough time to interview another applicant this evening with the
council meeting following the workshop discussion. Mr. Berglund had stated he would be present
at the council meeting in the event that there was time.
Mayor Longrie moved to approve the agenda.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Discussion: Dynamic Sign Ordinance Issues
a. Acting City Manager, Chuck Ahl introduced the item and then turned the
presentation over to Environmental Planner, Shann Finwall.
b. Environmental Planner, Shann Finwall gave the presentation and answered
questions of the council.
c. Citizen Services Director, Karen Guilfoile reported and answered questions of the
council.
Community Design Review Board Member, Matt Ledvina gave the CDRB report
regarding the Dynamic Sign Ordinance to the council.
City Attorney, Alan Kantrud answered questions of the council.
Mayor Longrie asked if anyone wanted to speak regarding this item.
Lori Van Dalen, Maplewood Mall, 3001 White Bear Avenue, Suite 1072, Maplewood. Ms.
Van Dalen offered her comments regarding sign issues at Maplewood Mall.
Jeff Kehr, Myth Nightclub, 3090 Southlawn Drive South, Maplewood. Mr. Kehr spoke
regarding the current sign at the Myth.

E. NEW BUSINESS
Environmental and Natural Resources Commission Interview- Bill Schreiner
Bill Schreiner, 1098 Beaver Creek Parkway, Maplewood answered questions of the council
during the interview process for the opening on the Environmental and Natural Resources
Commission.
After the council asked their individual questions they completed their votes and passed them on
to Mr. Ahl. The results would be made at the council meeting immediately following.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Longrie adjourned the meeting at 6:25 p.m.
