C 7 MINUTES MAPLEWOOD AREA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY September 12, 2016 Council Chambers, City Hall CALL TO ORDER A meeting of the City Council serving as the Economic Development Authority, (EDA), was held in the City Hall Council Chambers and was called to order at 8:53 p.m. by EDA Chair Abrams. ROLL CALL Marylee Abrams, Chair Present Kathleen Juenemann, Member Present Nora Slawik, Member Present Bryan Smith, Member Present Tao Xiong, Member Present APPROVAL OF AGENDA Member Smith moved to approve the agenda as submitted. Seconded by Member Slawik Ayes — All The motion passed. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approval of December 14, 2015 Economic Development Authority Meeting Minutes Member Juenemann moved to approve the December 14, 2015 Economic Development Authority Meeting Minutes as submitted. Seconded by Member Slawik The motion passed. E. PUBLIC HEARING None F. G UNFINISHED BUSINESS None NEW BUSINESS Ayes — EDA Chair Abrams, Members Juenemann and Slawik Abstain — Members Smith and Xiong September 12, 2016 1 Maplewood Area Economic Development Authority Meeting Minutes 1. Consider Approval of Proposed Tax Levy Payable in 2017 Finance Director Paulseth gave the staff report and answered questions of the council. City Manager Coleman answered additional questions of the council. Member Juenemann moved to approve the resolution setting the maximum tax levy for Payable 2017 at $89,270 for the Maplewood Area Economic Development Authority. Resolution 16-09-1379 Resolution Providing Approval of a Proposed 2017 Tax Levy and Setting Budget Public Hearing Date WHEREAS, State law requires that the Maplewood Area Economic Development Authority approve a proposed tax levy for taxes payable in 2017 by September 30, 2016 and WHEREAS, the Maplewood Area Economic Development Authority has reviewed the Proposed 2017 Budget and has determined the maximum amount of the proposed tax levy payable in 2017. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAPLEWOOD AREA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MAPLEWOOD, MINNESOTA THAT: 1. The proposed tax levy for taxes payable in 2017 in the amount of $89,270 is hereby approved. Seconded by Member Smith Ayes — All The motion passed. H.
