HomeMy WebLinkAboutNo 379 Relating to Holidays and Amending Section 205.050 of the City CodeORDINANCE NO. 379 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO HOLIDAYS AND AMENDING SECTION 205.050 OF THE CITY CODE Section 1. Section 205.050 is hereby amended to read as follows: 205.050. HOLIDAYS. All permanent, full-time employees and temporary full-time employees with 30 calendar days of service, shall be compensated for a full 3 -hour day if employed at the time of any of the following; holidays: Date 1. January 1 2. wird Monday in February 3. Last Monday in May 4. July 4 5. First Monday in September G. Second Monday in October 7. November 11 S. Fourth Thrusday in November 9. December 25 Holidays Celebrated New Year's Day Washington and Lincoln's Birthday Memorial Day Independence Day Labor Day Columbus Day Veterans Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day Provided that when January 1, July 4, or December 25 fall on a Sunday, the following day shall be a holiday; and when January 1, July 4, or December 25 fail on s Saturday, the preceding; day shall be a holiday. Section 2. %his ordinance shall take effect upon passage, adoption and publication. Passed by the City Council of the City of Maplewood, Minnesota, this 17th day of October, 1974. (4) Said newspaper is circulated in and near the municipality which it purports to serve, has at least 500 copies regularly delivered to paying subscribers, has an average of at least 75 percent of its total circulation currently paid or no more than three months in arrears and has entry as second-class matter in its local post -office. (5) said newspaper purports to serve the Village of North 'St. Paul in the County of Ramsey and it has its known office of issue in the Village of North St. Paul in said county, established and open during its regular businese hours for the gathering of news, sale of advertisements and sale of subscriptions and main- tained by the publisher of said newspaper or persons in his employ and subject to his direction and control during all such regular business hours at which said newspaper is printed. (6) Said news- paper files a copy of each issue immediately with the State Historical Society. (7) Said newspaper has complied with all the foregoing conditions for at least two years preceding the day or dates of publi- cation mentioned below. (8) Said newspaper has filed with the Secretary of State of Minnesota prior to January 1, x1966, and each January 1 thereafter an affidavit in the form prescribed by the Secretary of State and signed by the publisher and sworn to before a notary public stating that the newspaper is a legal newspaper.
