HomeMy WebLinkAboutNo 114 Amending Ordinance No. 49, an Ordinance Regulating the Disposal of Garbage and Rubbish, Providing for the Collection Thereof and Licensing the Business of Garbage and Rubbish Collection, and Repealing Ordinance No. 7ORDINANCE NO. 114 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 49, AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE DISPOSAL OF GARBAGE AND RUBBISH, PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION THEREOF AND LICENSING THE BUSINESS OF GARBAGE AND RUBBISH COLLECTION, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 7. THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAPLEWOOD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN: Section 1. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 49 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 3. Every householder or occupant of any dwelling house and every operator of any boarding house, restaurant or any other place of business having garbage to dispose of, who does not otherwise provide for the disposal of such garbage in a sanitary manner shall provide himself with one or more fly type metal cans sufficient to receive all garbage in a sanitary manner and sufficient to receive all garbage which may accumulate between the times of collection. Each fly type metal can shall have a capacity of not to exceed thirty gallons and shall be provided with a bail or handles and a tight fitting cover. All garbage accumulating between the times of collection shall be placed in said cans after having first been drained of surplus water and wrapped in paper in a manner sufficient to prevent leakage before it is placed in said cans. Sec. 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication. Passed by the Village Council of the Village of Maplewood this 11th day of August, 1960.
