HomeMy WebLinkAboutNo 240 Amending the Maplewood Code by Amending (1) and (2) of Section 206.050, Relating to Sanitary Sewer Construction RequirementsORDINANCE NO. 240 AN ORDINANCE AMDDINC THE MAPLEWOOD WDE BY AMXNDING (1) and (2) OF SECTION 206.0509 RE- LATING TO SANITARY SEWER CONSTRUCTION REQUIRE- HENTS . THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAPLEWOOD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. (1) and (2) of Section 206.050 of the Maplewood Code are hereby amended as follows: "206.050. CONSTRUCTION' REQUIRE-1E'tTS. The following materials and construction methods, and none other, shall be used in making serer connections to the municipal sewer system. (1) Materials. -all pipe shall be 4" diameter or larger, Extra Heavy Cast Iron Soil Pipe, conforming to the A.S.T.M. Standard Specification A-74-42. (2) Joints and Construction. All joints shall be water -tight ao as to prevent any leakage into or out of the pipe line. Suzli lean prevention shall be accomplished by use of neoprene gasket or jute and lead seal that fills the space between the bell and spigot. Quantity of lead shall be 4 pounds for a four -inch pipe, 6 pounds for a six-inch pipe and 8 to lei pounds for an eight -inch pipe. Where a cast iron spigot connects to the hub of a clay pipe the joint shall be made with jute and either ;lot poured uitumastic joint made with JC -60 or cold applied joint sealing compound trade with Kalki te. Pipes before pouring shall he dry and clean and leakage control runaer shall aot be removed until compound is permanently set. All such joints, or joints between pipes of different sizes, shall be made in :ompliance with c=urrent instructious issued by Village Engineering Department." Section 2.
