ORDINANCE NO. 218
AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE
BUILDING CODE AND AMENDIING
THE MAPLEWOOD CODE, SECTIONS
304.010 and 325.020,
THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
MAPLEWOOD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 304.010 of the Ma-
plewood Code is hereby amended to read
as follows:
"304.010. PERMIT REQUIRED. Be-
fore proceeding with the construction, en-
largement, alteration, repairs, demoli-
tion or moving of any building or struc-
ture, or of any of the appurtenances of
such building which are part of the real
estate, the owner, the contractor, or the
subcontractor, shall first obtain a permit
for such purpose from the municipality
through its building inspector. The per-
mits, other than the original building)
Permits, required hereunder and as here-
inafter set forth, shall be procured by
the licensee licensed or registered under
Chapter 325 of this code."
Section 2. Section 325.020 of the Ma-
plewood Code is hereby amended to read
as follows:
"325.020. APPLICATION OF LI-
CENSE. All licenses shall be obtained
from the clerk of the municipality. Ap-
plication for license shall be filed with
the clerk on the forms furnished by the
municipality. The fee for each license
shall be $25.00 annually. Electricians,
plumbers or other crafts, which are li-
censed by the State of Minnesota and
which the municipality is prohibited from
licensing, who undertake to perform work
and obtain permits within the Village of
Maplewood, shall first register with the
Village Clerk and shall provide pyoof
of public liability insurance as required
in Section 325.130 hereof. Such state -
licensed contractors shall also provide any
additional insurance or indemnity bond
hereafter required by the Village Coun-
cil by resolution to protect property
of the Village when such work is being
done in or upon any Village street, or
other public right of way, or upon any
of the Village -owned utilities located in
such street or right of way."
Section 3. This ordinance shall take
effect from and after its passage and
Publication.

ports to be issued as above stated and in newspaper format and in column and sheet form equivalent
in space to at least 450 running inches of single column, two inches wide; has been issued once
each week from a known office established in said place of publication and employing skilled workmen
and equipped with the necessary material for preparing and printing the same, and the presswork on that
part of the newspaper devoted to local news of interest to the community which it purports to serve has
been done in its known office of publication; that during all said time in its makeup not less than twenty-
five per cent of its news columns have been devoted to local news of interest to the community it pur-
ports to serve; that during all said time it has not wholly duplicated any other publication, and has not
been entirely made up of patents, plate matter and advertisements; has been circulated in and near its
said place of publication to the extent of at least two hundred and forty (240) copies regularly delivered
to paying subscribers and has entry as second class matter in its local post office; and that a copy of each
issue has been filed with the State Historical Society, St. Paul; and that there has been on file in the
office of the County Auditor of Ramsey County, Minnesota, the affidavit of a person having knowledge
of the facts, showing the name and location of said newspaper and the existence of the conditions
constituting its qualifications as a legal newspaper.
