AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE OPERATION OF MOTOR'
YPHICLES ON .PRIVATELY OWNED PARKING LOTS AND
REGULA'1'Il`tG THE SAME.
THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF ErAPLY-100D DOES HE'RE3Y ORDAIN AS IOOLL(Y-01a:
rection 1. Ito person shall operate a motor vehicle on any privately owned
parking lot or area within the 'Jillage of 'Tsplewood at a speed greater than is safe
and reasonable under the conditions of traffic then existing wherein, and in no
event shall any such vehicle be operated in excess of a speed of 15 miles per hour.
All operation :and driving of motor vehicles on such parking lots shall be done in
R careful manner so that no sudden starting or erratic movement of such vehicle
is deliberately enraged in by the driver. It shall be unlawful for any person to
operate anis motor vehicle upon such lot in any manner that would constitute careless
driving if done on a public street. No person shall engage in any drag racing or
exhibition driving on any such parking lot or area.
.rection 2. Parking of vehicles on such lots shall conform to the markings
of stalls or positions for parking which are designated on the surface of the
parking area and no vehicles shYll be parked or allowed to stand in any arezi of

so that such parking will interfere with the movement of traffic therein.
-ection 3. The Police Department of the Village of 'aplewood may post signs
at any entrance to a privately owned parking lot from a public street which shall
designate one-way traffic for entrance and exit and the driver of any vehicle
entering or leaving such lot shall comply with any sifts so 'posted.
Section A. In the event that any person who drives a motor vehicle upon
such a parkin; lot or area becomes involved in a collision between the vehicle
he is driving and any other vehicle or vehicles, parking upon said. lot, such driver
shall leave a notice upon each unattended vehicle with which he has collided, %,giving
his name, address and license num-Der. Failure on the part of any person to comply

with this section shall constitute a violation of this ordinance.
Oection 5. Any person who violates this ordinance shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and shall 7e subject to a fine of not more than "One Hundred dollars
(U00.00) or imprisonment of not more than ninety `90) days, or both.
rection 6. This ordinance shell take effect and be in force from and after
its passage and publication, as provided by law.

AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE
OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES
ON PRIVATELY OWNED PARKING
LOTS AND REGULATING THE
SAME.
THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
MAPLEWOOD DOES HEREBY OR-
DAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. No person shall operate a
motor vehicle on any privately owned
parking lot or area within the Village
of Maplewood at a speed greater than
is safe and reasonable under the condi-
tions of traffic then existing therein, and
in no event shall any such vehicle be
operated in excess of a speed of 16 miles
Per hour. All operation and driving of
motor vehicles on such parking lots shall
be done in a careful manner so that no
sudden starting or erratic movement of
such vehicle is deliberately engaged in
by the driver. It shall be unlawful for
any person to operate any motor vehicle
upon such lot in any manner that would
constitute careless driving if done on a
Public street. No person shall engage in
any drag racing or exhibition driving on
any such parking lot or area.
Section 2. Parking of vericles on such
lots shall conform to the markings of
stalls or positions for parking which
are designated on the surface of the
Parking area and no vehicles shall be

of such parking lot which has been des-
ignated or is used as a lane for moving
traffic so that such parking will inter-
fere with the movement of traffic there-
in.
Section 8. The Police Department of
the Village of Maplewood may post

owned parking lot from a public street
which shall designate one-way traffic
for entrance and exit and the driver of
any vehicle entering or leaving such lot
shall comply with any signs so posted.
Section 4. In the event that any person
who drives a motor vehicle upon such
a parking lot or area becomes involved
in a collision between the vehicle he is
driving and any other vehicle or vehicles,
parking upon said lot, such driver shall
leave a notice upon each unattended ve-
hicle with which he has collided, giving
his name, address and license number.
Failure on the part of any person to
comply with this section shall con-
stitute a violation of this ordinance.
Section 6. Any person who violates
this ordinance shall be guilty of a mis-
demeanor and shall be subject to a fine
of not more than One Hundred Dollars
($100.00) or imprisonment of not more
than ninety (90) days, or both.
Section 6. This ordinance shall take
effect and be in force from and after
its passage and publication, as provided
by law.

and equipped with the necessary material for preparing and printing the same, and the presswork on that
part of the newspaper devoted to local news of interest to the community which it purports to serve has
been done in its known office of publication; that during all said time in its makeup not less than twenty-
five per cent of its news columns have been devoted to local news of interest to the community it pur-
ports to serve; that during all said time it has not wholly duplicated any other publication, and has not
been entirely made up of patents, plate matter and advertisements ; has been circulated in and near its
said place of publication to the extent of at least two hundred and forty (240) copies regularly delivered
to paying subscribers and has entry as second class matter in its local post office; and that a copy of each
issue has been filed with the State Historical Society, St. Paul; and that there has been on file in the
office of the County Auditor of Ramsey County, Minnesota, the affidavit of a person having knowledge
of the facts. showing the name and location of said newspaper and the existence of the conditions
-onatituting its qualifications as a legal newspaper.
