AN ORDINANCF RELATING TO INTt7XICATDTG LIQUOR, PROVIDING
FOR A PFWIT9 PURSUANT TO SECTION 340.14, SUBDIVISION 3,
OF MINNESOTA STATUTES, AND PROVIDING A PYNALTY FOTi VIOLA-
TION OF THIS ORDINANCE:.

Section 1. That whenever any person, association, or copporation, owning
or operating any private club or public place, obtains a permit from the State
Uquor Control Commissioner pursuant to i4innesota ;ta.tutes, section 340.14, sub-
division 3, Paragraph c, such applicant shall be required to obtain a permit from
the Village of ,laplewood and the fee for such permit shall be gree 1:'undred ($300.00)
Dollars, for :any one year or any part thereof expiring on the subsequent July let
next following the issuance of such license and said permit must be renewed annually
on July lst; provided that if such permit is applied for by a non-profit organization
or by a governmental unit, the operation of which is determined by the Council to be
of civic benefit to the <"illage, then and in that case the Council may authorize the
issuance of a permit to such non-profit organization or governmental unit at an
annual fee of no less than rive ($5.00) Dollars per year.
,;ect.ion 2. Application for such permit shall be made to the Village Clerk.
:;uch application shall be based upon a pending application with the Liquor Control
Commissioner and the Clerk shall issue said license if he is notified by the Liquor
Control Commissioner that the Liquor Control Commissioner intends to issue a license
pursuant to said :3ection 340.14, :)ubdivision 39 Paragraph c.
.section 3. "Pon final passage and publication of this ordinance the Clerk
shall forward a copy of this ordinance to the Liquor Control Commissioner of the

in space to at least 450 running inches of single column, two inches wide; has been issued once
each week from a known office established in said place of publication and employing skilled workmen
and equipped with the necessary material for preparing and printing the same, and the presswork on that
part of the newspaper devoted to local news of interest to the community which it purports to serve has
been done in its known office of publication; that during all said time in its makeup not less than twenty-
five per cent of its news columns have been devoted to local news of interest to the community it pur-
ports to serve; that during all said time it has not wholly duplicated any other publication, and has not
been entirely made up of patents, plate matter and advertisements; has been circulated in and near its
said place of publication to the extent of at least two hundred and forty (240) copies regularly delivered
to paying subscribers and has entry as second class matter in its local post office; and that a copy of each
issue has been filed with the State Historical Society, St. Paul; and that there has been on file in the
office of the County Auditor of Ramsey County, Minnesota, the affidavit of a person having knowledge
of the facts, showing the name and location of said newspaper and the existence of the conditions
constituting its qualifications s a legal newspaper.
