TU COUBCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAPLL'NOOD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLL(M. I Section 1. Pio person shall purchase, receive or accept a revolver or pistol within the Village of :Maplewood without first having obtained a written permit .from the Chief of Police of said Village, authorizing him to purchase, receive or accept such revolver or pistol. Section 2. No person, firm or corporation shall sell, deliver, dis- play for sale, offer for sale, or otherwise transfer a pistol or revolver within the Village of 1aplewood to ary person who is not the holder of a written permit from the Police Chief of Waplewood, authorizing him to purchase, receive or accept such revolver or pistol, and in no case shall. any person, firm or corporation deliver a pistol or revolver to the person to whom it is sold, or to be '.ransferred unless such sale or transfer is made pursuant to approval of the Chief of Folice in the manner hereinafter provided. :;ection 3. 'she 8hief of Police shall upon application, issue a written permit to purchase a revolve:, or pistol within the `Pillar;, of Maplewood to any citizen of the United States who is of ;rood ;poral character and has never been convicted of a felony, if it appears that such person has a reasonable and lawful purpose mine. for the purchase of such pistol or revolver and that the same will be used only for a lawful purpose. Such permit issued by the Chief of Police shall be valid for a period of five (j days from its date of issuance. Section 4.-_efore the delivery of a pistol or revolver purchased, or to be transferred, the purchaser or the person to whom such revolver is to be delivered shall surrender his hermit to the seller or transferor and shall sign in duplicate and deliver to said seller a statement containing his full name, address UrdiuMme lto. 153 and r►aImn the 4te of *9 sale or transfer# the caliber, wake, model and manufactureres serial maber of the weapon. Any person convicted of violating the provisions of this ordi- nance shall be guilty of a misde- meaunz and shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $100.00 or by imprison- ment not to exceed ninety (90) days - section S.
