All kinds and descriptions of gamin;, gambling and fraud- ulent devices and practices in Fwaing, and all playing cards, dice, or other games of chance, are hereby Nmhibited- rection 2. All roulette tables, all faro or pharo banks, crap tables, chuck -a -luck devices, and all pi ming with cards, ;arcing tables, or gambling defioes, and all descriptions of;'Nin, and rambling,, and all houses and places for the purpose of and fraudulent devices and practices, and all playing of cards, dice or other g=es of chance, are hereby ywhibited from being set up or used, or kept, for ;;aminr; or ,rumbling purposes in the dilla,�„re of + anlewood. Section 3. No person shall bet any money or ether property at, or upon, or in any mining or gambling table, game, or device, prohibited by this ordinance. Section 4. No person shall 'keep any house or place for the purpose of gambling, nor shall any peroon suffer or allow any gaping tableg batik or ;ambling device or gambling equipment prohibited in this ordinance, to be set up or used for the purpose of gaming in any house, building, boat, lot, hotel, :Hotel, shop, ward, room, space, or .3arden, to him belonging, or by him occupied, or over which he has the control. Section 5. If any person or persons shall engage in a gambling game, or make use of any gambling device or equipment, prohibited by this ordinance, or shall keep tables, or furniture, or fixtures or instruments for gaming or ;gamblirg, or used or intended for use in gaming or gambling, in or out of any house, room, or place, such Wables,or instrLients,or equipment, may be seized and taken into custodZr by any police of:'Joer of the Village of Maplewood; and it is hereby made the expressed duty of ali police officers or policemen to enter any place, house, Ordinance No. 152 room, tent, or booth, and seize said gaming tables, instz4asents, fixtures or equipment, and hold and :keep the dame. Seotion 6. No person shall visit any place, or house, or room used, occupied, or in any way designed for gaming or gambling purposes, and there bet any money or valuable thing on any game or device, either played with cards, dice, or otherwise; and it shall be the duties of the police officers of the Village to visit all houses, places, rooms, tents, or booths, where any such gambling is carried on in violation of this ordinance, and to arrest all persons violating any part of this section, or arty part or portion of this ordinance. Section 7. Ro person shall, within the limits of the Village of Maplewood, whether directly or indirectly,bet or risk any money or other property at, or upon, any Swie or device, or horse race, or contest of any kind whatever, or upon the happening of any event whether such event takes place within or without the Village, limits, or the result of any such event, or engage in wV, gaming or garbling of any kind whatever, in which money or other propert.,- is directly or indirectly bet, wagered, staked or risked, or aid or abet, directly or indixpctly, any other person or persons in the doing of any said action. Section. S. This ordinance shall not apply to the t3ame of oingo, as defined ay the laws of the State of Vinnesote if such game of bingo is duly licensed pursuant to the laws of the State of ?innesota and the ordinances of Maplewood. Section 9. any person or persons convicted of violating any of the provisions of this ordinar�oe shall be punished by a fine of not less than $10.00 or more than $100.009 or by imprisonment in the County Jail or County :Detention Home not more than ninety (90; days. Section 10. THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAPLEWOOD DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. All kinds and descriptions of gaming, gambling and fraudulent devices and practices in gaming, and all playing cards, dice, or other games of chance, are hereby prohibited. Section 2. All roulette tables, all faro or pharo banks, crap tables, chuck -a -luck devices, and all gaming with cards, gaming tables, or gambling devices, and all descriptions of gam- ing and gambling, and all houses and places for the purpose of gambling and fraudulent devices and practices, and all playing of cards, dice or other games of chance, are hereby pro- hibited from being set up or used, or kept, for gaming or gambling pur- poses in the Village of Maplewood. Section 3. No person shall bet any F� money or other property at, or upon, or in any gaming or gambling table, game, or device, prohibited by this ordinance. Section 4. No person shall keep any house or place for the Purpose of gambling, nor shall any person suffer of allow any gaming table, bank or gambling device or gambling equip- ment prohibited in this ordinance, to be set up or used for the purpose of gaming in any house, building lot, hotel, motel, shop, ilroom, space, or garden, to him belonging,. or by him occupied, or over which he has the control. Section 5. Section 8. This ordinance shall not ap„ ly _.to the game of bingo, as de- fined by the laws of the State of Min- nesota' if such game of bingo is duly licensed pursuant to the laws of the' State of Minnesota and the ordi- nances of Maplewood. Section 9. Any person or persons convicted of violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not less than $10.00 or more than $100.00, or by imprisonment in the County Jail or County Detention Home not more . than ninety. (90) days. Section 10. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
