HomeMy WebLinkAboutNo 45 Amending Ordinance No 14 Entitled" An Ordinance Establishing, Amplifying and Revising the Building Code; Creating and Continuing the Office of Building Inspector; Validating All Permits Issued and Construction...ORDINANCE NO. 45 AN ORDINANCE k'VIENDING ORDINANCE NO. 14 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING, AMPLIFYING AND RE- VISING THE BUILDING CODE; CREATING AND CONTINU- ING THE OFFICE OF BUILDING INSPECTOR; VALIDATING ALL PERMITS ISSUED AND CONSTRUCTION AUTHORIZED UNDER THE CODE HERETOFORE EXISTING AND REPEALING RESOLUTIONS, ORDINANCES OR PARTS THEREOF INCON- SISTENT HEREWITH." THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAPLEWOOD DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. Section 6-103 of Ordinance #14 is hereby amended to read as follows: 6-103 Pipe used for the construction of a house sewer shall have a minimum diameter of four (L}) inches and shall be made of cast iron and no bend exceeding 45 degrees shall be used in such line. Sec. 2. Section 6-109 of Ordinance X14 is hereby amended to read as follows: 1 6-109 a) The sewer line from the point where it leaves the build- ing, whether beneath the basement floor or at any point in the founda- tion to the sewer or septic tank shall have watertight joints. This sewer line shall have a gradient of not less than one -four (1/4) inch per foot of pipe. b) No downspouts, roof drains, or basement the drains shall be connected to the sewer pipe any time or at any point within or with- out the walls or under the basement floor of the building. The sewer pipe shall be so constructed, fited and designed as to carry only sani- tary sewerage originating within the building. c) The sewer pipe shall lead to the front, or the street side, of the building so as to facilitate connection with public sewer when such public sewer is provided by the municipality in the street upon which the building fronts. Whenever any private sewerage disposal system is not located in the front or street facing area of the lot Ordinance #45 or building site, a capped sewer line shall be constructed under the basement floor to a point two (2) feet outside the line of the front basement wall line to provide for future connection with municipal sewer. Such capped line shall be in- stalled in evenr structure hereafter constructed within the municipality when the private disposal system is located at either side or to the rear of the lot or building site. Sec. 3. Section 6-122 of Ordinance #14 is hereby amended to read as follows: 6-122 Where it is necessary to use a disposal drainage field, such field shall consist of a minimum of 120 lineal feet of 18 inch trench subject to the fol- lowing size and minimum spacing requirements: Size and minimurl spacing requirements for disposal trenches.
