AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE X14 ENTITLED "AN
ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING, AMPLIFYING AND REVISING
THE BUILDING CODE; CREATING AND CONTINUING THE OF-
FICE OF BUILDING INSPECTOR; VALIDATING ALL PERMITS
ISSUED AND CONSTRUCTION AUTHORIZED UNDER THE CODE
HERETOFORE EXISTING AND REPEALING RESOLUTIONS, ORDI-
NANCES OR PARTS THEREOF INCONSISTENT HEREWITH."
THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF NEW CANADA ORDAINS:
Section 1. Section 8-1 of Ordinance No. 14 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
118-1 Before any person, firm or corporation shall engage in the
business of doing or performing any of the various types of worst listed
in this section, they shall first obtain a license to do so as herein-
after provided:
"No. 1 - Cement work, cement block work, cement block laying or
brick work.
"No. 2 - General construction including erection, alteration or
repair of building.
"No. 3 - The moving or wrecking of buildings.
"No. )�. - Plastering, outside stucco work or lathing.
"No. 5. - Electric wiring.
"No. 6. - Plumbing including installation of outside sewage dis-
posal plants.
"No. 7. - Heating.
"No. 8. - Gas installation including heating, appliances, devices
or machinery, etc.
"No. 9. - Well drilling.
"No.10. - Roofing.
"No.11. - Sign and bill board erecting.
"No.12. - Excavators (for basements, foundations, grading of
lots. etc.).

"No. 13. - Cesspool and sewer installers."
Sec. 2. Section 8-2 of Ordinance No. 1L� is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"(3-2 All licenses shall be obtained from the Clerk of the munici-
pality. Application for licenses shall be filed with the clerk on the
forms furnished by the municipality. The fee for each license shall
be Fifteen and 00100 ($15.00) Dollars annually."
Sec. 3. Section 8-10 of Ordinance No. ll+ is hereby amended to
read as follows:
118-10 Whenever any licensee hereunder shall do cement work on
public streets or sidewalks or perform excavating or sewer work af-
fecting any public streets or erect any sign or billboard which may
be deemed hazardous to users of public streets or sidewalks, the
Town Board may by resolution require that such licensee shall file with
the Clerk of the municipality a surety bond in the penal sum as deter-
mined by the Town Board, operating in favor of the municipality and
conditioned that the municipality will be saved harmless from any
loss or damage by reason of improper or inadequate work performed by
the holder of said license under the provisions of this code. Such
bond shall be subject to approval as to form, execution and surety."
Sec. 4. Section 8-13 of Ordinance No. 14 is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"8-13 Any person, firm or corporation applying for any license
enumerated in Section 8-1 shall file with the Clerk of the municipality
certified copies of public liability and property damage insurance
which shall remain and be in force and effect during the entire term
of said license and which shall contain a provision that they shall
not be cancelled without ten daysl written notice to the municipality.
�Public liability insurance shall not be less than fite Thousand

death to any one person and, subject to the same limit for each person,
in an amount of not less than Thousand and 00100 ( , )
Dollars on account of any one accident, and property damage insurance in
the amount of not less than Twenty-five Thousand and 00100 ($25,000.00)
Dollars, and the policy shall include completed operations coverage.
No license shall be issued until said insurance policy shall have been
filed and approved by the Clerk of the municipality."
