AN ORDINANCE TO LICENSE AND REGULATE THE OCCUPA-
TION OF USED CAR SELLING, TRADING AND DEALING
AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE.
THE BOARD OF THE TOWN OF NEW CANADA DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. No person, firm, or corporation shall exercise, carry
on or be engaged in the trade or business of selling, trading or deal-
ing in used cars within the 11mits of the Town of New Canada without
first having obtained a license to do so in conformity with the pro-
visions of this ordinance.
Sec. 2. The term, "used car dealer", as used in this ordinance,
shall be construed to mean any person, firm or corporation operating
a used car lot or engaged regularly in the business of buying, selling
and dealing in used automobiles; and the.fact that such person, firm
or corporation may maintain an agency or sub -agency for any automobile
dealer or other person shall not exempt such agent or sub -agent from
the terms of this ordinance if such agent or sub -agent engages in the
used car business.
Sec. 3. The amount to be paid for icense required by Section 1

GSec. 4. Before any person, firm or corporation s all beicensed
as a used car dealer such applicant shall make application to the Town
Clerk giving his name, address and previous experience in business
for at least five years prior to the time the application is made.
Sec. 5. Any application made hereunder shall be submitted by the
.� Clerk to the Town Board at the next regular meeting thereof and the
Town Board shall issue or deny the license.
Sec. 6. No person, firm or corporation licensed under the terms

hereof shall keep his place of business open ormake any sales or do
any work in connection with said business on Sunday.
Sec. 7. The premises of the licensee hereunder shall be open to
inspection at any time during business hours by any authorized officer

Sec. 8. Any license issued under this ordinance shall be for one
(1) year only and the application for renewal must be presented to the

Sec. 9. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the pro-
visions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished
by a fine of not more than $100.00 or by imprisonment of not more than
ninety (90) days.
Sec. 10. This ordinance shall take effect upon passage and publi-
cation.

of the Town of New Canada without first
having obtained a license to do so in
conformity with the provisions of this
ordinance.
Sec. 2. The term. "used car dealer," as
used in this ordinance, shall be construed
to mean any person, firm or corporation
operating a used car lot or engaged regu-
larly in the business of buying, selling and
dealing in used automobiles; and the fact
that such person, firm or corporation
may maintain an agency or sub -agency
for any automobile dealer or other person
shall not exempt such agent or sub -agent
from the terms of this ordinance if stich

car business.
Sec. 3. The amount to be paid for li-
cense required by Section 1 hereof shall
be $100.00 per year or any portion of a
year. The termination date of any license
issued hereunder shall be Dec. 31 of each
year.
