AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE No. 14 EN-
TITLED "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING, AMPLIFYING,
AND REVISING THE BUILDING CODE; CREATING AND
CONTINUING THE OFFICE OF BUILDING INSPECTOR:
VALIDATING ALL PERMITS ISSUED AND CONSTRUC-
TION AUTHORIZED UNDER THE CODE HERETOFORE
EXISTING AND REPEALING RESOLUTIONS, ORDINANCES
OR PARTS THEREOF INCONSISTENT HEREWITH."
The Town Board of the Town of New Canada Ordains:
Section 1. Said Ordinance No. 14 entitled, "An Ordinance
Establishing, amplifying and Revising the Building Code;
Creating and Continuing the Office of Building Inspector;
Validating All Permits Issued and Construction Authorized
Under the Code Heretofore Existing and Repealing Resolutions,
Ordinances or Parts Thereof Inconsistent Herewith," is hereby
amended by adding new language to Sections 4-8, 4-18, 4-26,
4-27 so that said Sections 4-8, 4-18, 4-26, 4-27, will read as
follows:
4-8 ELECTRIC WIRING PERMIT FEES $3.00 minimum for
water heaters, ranges, pumps, milking machines or any major
appliance or additional circuits.
$3.00. $3.00 minimum (this includes change of service and one
circuit- or two additional circuits on an existing service.)
$1.00. $1.00 additional for each additional circuit, if inspection
is made at same time as above.
The type of additional circuit installation requiring inspection
is that which requires a special circuit by reason of load or
hazard involved. $3.00. For the alteration, rearrangement or
repair of existing electrical equipment or for other electrical
work not included in the above -$1.00 for each one hundred
dollars ($100.00) or fraction thereof, of the estimated cost
of the installation.
Certificate of Inspection is required on all installations of five
(5) or more current consuming outlets.
$6.00. $6.00 for installations requiring a 30 ampere service.
$3.00. $3.00 for any additional outbuilding added to an existing
installation with entrance service up to 50 amperes, which
would include such a building as a new barn on a farmstead
already receiving electric service. $1.00 shall be added for each
additional building, if inspection is made at same time as above.
On special occupancies, such as resorts and group housing
under one ownership, no one such inspection for additional
wiring on existing installations shall exceed $15.00.
$7.50 $7.50 for installation requiring 60 ampere or 100 ampere
service.
$10.00. $10.00 minimum for 200 ampere service, up to $500.00
worth of electrical work. $1.00 additional for each $250.00 or
fraction thereof, worth of work in excess of $500.00. For the
purpose of calculating inspection fees on this class of work,
the value of lighting fixtures and fixed appliances shall not
be included.
FOR SERVICES OVER 200 AMPERES, THE FEE SCHEDULE
BASED ON THE SECONDARY SERVICE IS:
$1.00. $1.00 for the first horespower (H.P.), or fraction there-
of, for wiring, for installing and connecting electric motors, or
other apparatus rated in horsepower (H.P.)
10c. 10c for each additional horsepower (H.P.) or fraction
thereof, in excess of one (1) horsepower (H.P.), but not ex-
ceeding two hundred (200) horsepower (H.P.)
10. 10c for each ten (10) horsepower (H.P.) or fraction
thereof, in excess of two hundred (200) horsepower (H.P.)
$1.00 $1.00 minimum for the first kilovolt ampere (K.V.A.)
for the wiring for, installing and connecting transformers
(for light, heat or power) generators, heating devices, recti-
fiers or other apparatus rated in watts.
10c. 10e for each kilo -volt ampere (K.V.A.) capacity, or frac-
tion thereof, in excess of one (1) but not to exceed 200 kilo-
volt amperes (K.V.A.) -
10c. 10c for each 10 kilo -volt ampere (K.V.A.) capacity, or
fraction thereof, in excess of 200 kilo -volt amperes (K.V.A.)
In determining the amount of the fees in this subdivision, motor
generators shall be rated according to the rated horsepower
(H.P.) on the motor only.
75c. 75c for each ten (10) current consuming outlets, or frac-
tion thereof. (outlets shall be construed to mean any outlets
for lighting fixtures, wall receptacles or floor receptacles where
such receptacles are permitted on branch lighting circuits.)
50c. 50c for each ten (10) lampholders or fixtures or fraction
thereof used for lighting.
50c. 50c for each installation for the wiring of each complete
outline lighting (other than luminous tube lighting), marquise,
stage border, stage footlight group, stage procenium strip, or
temporary lighting when permitted, the fee shall be 50c for
the first ten (10) sockets, or receptacles, or for any fraction
thereof, if less than ten (10), including the installation of such
sockets or receptacles.
50c. 50c for the next twenty (20) sockets, or fraction thereof.
50c. 50c for the next thirty (30) sockets, or fraction thereof.
50c. 50c for any fifty (50) sockets or fraction thereof, in
excess of the first sixty (60) such sockets or receptacles.
Outline lighting shall be construed to mean that class of light-
ing used on the outside of buildings to mark the outlines
thereof by the use of incandescent lamps. $1.00. $1.00 for each
installation for wiring for and/or installing outline decorative
display or other lighting employing luminous tubes energized
by transformers, for the first five hundred (500) volt-amperes,
or fraction thereof.
10c. 10c for each additional one hundred (100) volt-amperes,
over the first 500. This volt-ampere rating shall be based on
Primary current and voltage.
$3.00. $3.00 for the alteration, rearrangement or repair of
existing electrical equipment or for other electrical work not
included in the above -$1.00 for each one hundred dollars
($100.00) or fraction thereof, of the estimated cost of the
installation.
Where a combined certificate of inspection is issued for both
wiring and fixtures, the fee to be charged on such certificate
shall equal the combined fees as set forth above. Upon the
filing of the application and the payment of the fee, a permit
shall be issued to the applicant.
4-18 For the excavation, grading or surfacing for any build.
ing structure, plot or area of ground, the permit fee charge
shall be made at the rate of $1.00 for each 10,000 square feet
or fractional part thereof contained in said area. The back-
filling around a new building or structure shall be covered
by the fee for the area of the excavation.
4-26 The fee for all special permits not specified by this code
shall be $4.00.
4-27 The minimum fee for any permit whether or not such
permit is mentioned in this code, shall be $4.00.

The Town Board of the Town of

plifying and Revising the Building Code;
Creating and Continuing the Office of

mits Issued and Construction Authorized
'Under the Code Heretofore Existing and
Repealing Resolutions, Ordinances or
` Parts Thereof Inconsistent Herewith" is
hereby amended by adding new language
to Sections 4-8, 4-18, 4-26, 4-27 so that
,said Sections 4-8, 4-18, 4-26, 4-27 will

30 ampere service.

ing added to an existing installation with
entrance service up to 50 amperes, which
would include such a building as a new
barn on a farmstead already receiving
electric service. $1.00 shall be added for
each additional building, if inspection is
made at same time as above.
On special occupancies, such as resorts
and group housing under one ownership,
no one such inspection for additional wir-
ing on existing installations shall exceed
$15.00.
$7.50. $7.50 for installations requiring 60
ampere or 100 ampere service.
$10.00. $10.00 minimum for 200 ampere
service, up to $500.00 worth of electrical
work. $1.00 additional for each $250.00 or
fraction thereof, worth of work in excess
of $500.00. For the purpose of calculating
inspection fees on this class of work, the
value of lighting fixtures and fixed ap-
pliances shall not be _included.
