AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 14 ENTITLED "AN
ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING, AMPLIFYING AND REVISING THE
BUILDING CODE; CREATING AND CONTINUING THE OFFICE OF
BUILDING INSPECTOR; VALIDATING ALL PERMITS ISSUED AND
CONSTRUCTION ALTHORIZ D UNDER THE CODE HERETOFORE EX-
ISTING AND REPEALING RESOLUTIONS,ORDINANCES OR PARTS
THEREOF INCONSISTENT HEREWITH."
THE TOWN BOARD OF THE MWN OF NEW CANADA DOES ORDAINS
Section 1. Said Ordinance No. 1!� entitled "An Ordinance Establishing,
Amplifying and Revising the Building Code; Creating and Continuing the Office of
Building Inspector; Validating All Permits issued and Construction Authorized Under
the Code heretofore Existing, and Repealing Resolutions, Ordinances or Parts thereof
Inconsistent Herewith" is hereby amer.ded by striking from Section 6, Subdivision 2
the followings
*In every dwelling house hereaf tei erected, there shall be at least three
(3) livable roomsazd the overall dimensions shall contain an area of not less than
seven hundred sixty-eight (768) square feet except that dwellings having two (2)
full floors may contain a first floor area of not less than six hundred seventy-two
(672) square feet. No room except bath shall be less than seven (7) feet wide" and
inserting in lieu thereof the following languages
"(a) In every dwelling house hereafter erected, there shall be at least
three (3) livable rooms and the overall dimensions shall contain an area of not less
than eight hundred (800) square feet, except that dwellings having two full floors
may contain a first floor area of not less than six hundred seventy-two (672) square
feet. No livable room, except kitchen, shall be less in area than ninety (90) square
feet.
"(b) Whenever two or more dwelling houses are constructed in any single
block by the same contractor or developer, the architectural Peatures of such houses
shall be varied so that no two houses similar in appearance shall be erected on lots

in the :same block unless they are separated from one another by at least two inter-
vening houses-, provided that the mere change in kind or color of exterior surface
finish shall not constitute compliance with this paragraph of the building code .1°
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect a nd be in force from and after
its passage and publication.
