CALL TO ORDER A meeting of the City Council was held in the City Hall Council Chambers and was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Mayor Longrie. B. ROLL CALL A Diana Longrie, Mayor Present Erik Hjelle, Councilmember Present Kathleen Juenemann, Councilmember Present John Nephew, Councilmember Present Will Rossbach, Councilmember Present APPROVAL OF AGENDA Mayor Longrie moved to approve the agenda as submitted. Seconded by Councilmember Nephew. Ayes — All The motion passed. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 1. Declaration of Special Meeting Topics and Intent to (Close Session). This was a closed the session meeting pursuant to Minnesota State Statute, Chapter 13 relating to Attorney/Client privilege for the purpose of discussion. a. Palkovich vs. City of Maplewood Attorney, Julie Fleming -Wolfe provided the council with an update on the recent Mediation Session on the litigation and provided an update regarding the next step. This also was a closed session meeting pursuant to Minnesota State Statute, Chapter 13 to discuss Negotiations between the City of Maplewood and Maplewood Confidential and Supervisory Association. b. Attorney Update — Report on Negotiations of 2007 -2008 Contract between the City of Maplewood and Maplewood Confidential and Supervisory Association. HR Attorney, Chuck Bethel gave a report and answered questions of the council. April 28, 2008 CLOSED SESSION Special City Council Meeting Minutes Mayor Longrie reopened the council meeting for the next agenda item. 2. Presentation by City Manager Search Firm a. Sharon Klump, Springsted Incorporated, 380 Jackson Street, Ste. 300, St. Paul, gave the presentation and answered questions of the council. E.
