In total dollars, this levy increase is: $15,876,235 [09Levy] X 5% = $793,810. The tax levy is the amount of funds that the City collects from November 20 - 22 property taxes. The tax levy of $16,670,045 proposed for 2010 is out of Fri & Sat 7:30PM Sun 2:00PM a total budget of over $41 million. The other revenues in the budget are at the Community Center sewer fees, environmental utility fees, along with charges for service at the Maplewood Community Center and Recreation Programs. The November 13, 6:15PM budget also includes fees for the ambulance services and charges for at Carver Community Gym building permits. The 5% tax levy increase was set based upon a preliminary analysis of the City’s needs. A tracking of governmental December 5, 9:00AM - 3:00PM for governmental services have increased by 0.83%. The city staff have at the Community Center estimated that the major increase in expenses for 2010 are mainly in the area of employee expenses for cost of living increases and health care costs, plus debt service to pay for bonds sold to pay for neighborhood roadway reconstruction.
