Adjournment MEMORANDUM TO: FROM: DATE: City Manager Tom Ekstrand, Senior Planner DuWayne Konewko, Community Development and Parks Director Home Foreclosures-Discussion with Denise Beigbeder of Ramsey County Community and Economic Development May 4, 2010 SUBJECT: INTRODUCTION Denise Beigbeder, of the Ramsey County Community and Economic Development Department, will be present to discuss how Ramsey County is dealing with home foreclosures in the county and their work with the local municipalities. Staff is very thankful for Ms. Beigbeder's willingness to visit us for this discussion. As summer approaches, the long grass/lawn maintenance complaints will increase. The city council approved a $250.00 abatement fee which staff charges to help recoup some of the cost of increased complaints due to home vacancies. * Often times, there are several issues or problems at a given violation site or address. The 99 count relates to the number of addresses visited by staff while enforcing violations, although, there were 145 violations enforced. p:HRA\Code Enforcement Report 1st Quarter 5 10 df MEMORANDUM TO: FROM: SUBJECT: DATE: Housing and Redevelopment Authority Tom Ekstrand, Senior Planner Oath of Office May 4, 2010 State Section 358.05, requires that all elected or appointed officials must swear an oath of office prior to conducting or participating in any business of the commission or board. The oath of office is as follows: I, [name], do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States and of the State of Minnesota and faithfully discharge the duties of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority in the City of Maplewood, in the County of Ramsey and the State of Minnesota, to the best of my judgment and ability. So help me God. Staff will be swearing in all HRA members with the oath of office during the May 12 meeting.
