CALL TO ORDER
A meeting of the City Council was held in the Council Chambers, at City Hall, and was called to
order at 7:05 P.M. by Mayor Longrie.

Councilmember Rossbach moved to add agenda item E2: Citizen Comments to the a eg nda.

Mayor Longrie reminded all attendees of the Rules of Civility for the Community.
NEW BUSINESS
The meeting was requested for the purpose to discuss the Maplewood Police Department
Background Investigation Summary Report pertaining to Interim City Manager Greg
Copeland and possible actions to be taken by the city council relating to the report. In
addition, it was requested that a time line be established for the process of hiring a new full
time City Manager.
City Attorney Kantrud provided legal guidance in approaching the dissemination of
documentation to maintain the best interest of the city.
A discussion was held regarding the intent and application of access as defined in the
employee handbook.
Councilmember Rossbach requested to read a report into the public record.

Councilmember Cave moved to adjourn the meeting to be continued at a Special Meetine
July 24~' at 5:00 ~m In prenarahon for that meeting the Interim City Attorne} will
research council's questions to include: What is private data? What is public data? What
can be discussed in a public forum? What cannot be discussed in a public forum? Mr.
Kantrud will work with the representative from IPAD (Information Policy Anal
Division) to clarify exactly what can and cannot be talked about to protect the city from
potential liti ag hon.
