A. CALL TO ORDER
A special meeting of the City Council of Maplewood, Minnesota, was held at
John Glenn Middle School and was called to order at 7:00 P.M., by Mayor
Greavu.

D. PUBLIC HEARINGS
1. 7:00 P.M., Footprint Lake Storm Sewer, Project 87-32
a. Mayor Greavu convened the meeting for a public hearing regarding
the proposal to construct a storm sewer system to provide drainage for
segments of Hazelwood Avenue, Cope Avenue, and English Street, which
are Maplewood Municipal State Aid Streets, as well as County Road B
and Prosperity Street, which are County State Aid Highways.
b. Manager McGuire presented the Staff report.
c. City Attorney Kelly explained the legal procedures for holding
this public hearing.
d. Director of Public Works Haider presented the specifics of the.
proposal.
e. Mayor Greavu called for persons who wished to be heard regarding
this proposal. The following expressed their views and. opinions:

f. Mayor Greavu closed the public hearing.
g. Councilmember Anderson introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
89 - 11 - 195
WHEREAS, after due notice of public hearing on the construction of
trunk storm sewer for the area roughly bounded by English Street,
Gervais Avenue, White Bear Avenue, and Ryan Avenue, City Project 87-
32, a hearing on said improvement in accordance with the notice duly
given was duly held on Monday, November 20, 1989, and the Council has
heard all persons desiring to be heard on the matter and has fully
considered the same;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OP MAPLEWOOD,
MINNESOTA, as follows:
1. That it is advisable, expedient and necessary that the
City of Maplewood construct trunk storm sewer for the
area roughly bounded by English Street, Gervais
Avenue, White Bear Avenue, and Ryan Avenue, City
Project 87-32, as described in the notice of hearing
thereof, and orders the same to be made.
2. She City Engineer is designated engineer for this
improvement and is hereby directed to prepare final
plans and specifications for the making of said
improvement.
3. The project budget is amended to $1,444,200. The
project financing shall be as follows:

MSA 361,000
General Obligation 375,200
Seconded by Mayor Greavu. Ayes - Mayor Greavu, Councilmembers
Anderson, Juker and Rossbach.
Nay - Councilmember Bastian
Council directed Staff to review the newly addressed problems and investigate
the ponds relative to Cave's developments.
