A. CALL TO ORDER
A special meeting of the City Council of Maplewood, Minnesota, was held in the Cafe -
torium, John Glenn Junior High School, 1560 E. County Road B and was called to order
at 7:30 P.M. by Mayor Bruton.

C. PUBLIC HEARINGS
1. Beam Avenue, Lydia Avenue between White Bear Avenue and McKnight Road
a. Mayor Bruton convened the meeting for a public hearing regarding the opening
of Beam Avenue, Lydia Avenue and Radatz Avenue for two way traffic. The Clerk
read the notice of hearing along with the dates of publication.
b. Director of Public Works Collier presented the background of the original
project, Improvement 73 -13, Northeast Area Streets and presented the staff report.
c. Mayor Bruton called for persons who wished to be heard. The following persons
presented their views:
Mr. Karla Rademacker, 2120 Beam Avenue, presented petition of 355 area
signatures (in favor of project as it stands).
James F. McGovern, attorney representing Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Bilotta, 2183
Mapleview Avenue (in favor of project as it was previously approved).
Burt Johnson, 2106 Beam Avenue (in favor of project as it stands).
Wayne Rasmussen, 2164 Beam Avenue, presented slides (in favor of streets
being closed).
James St. Onge, 2126 Beam Avenue, Chairman of C.A.R.E. (in favor of streets
being closed).
Bill Mathews, 3417 McKnight Road, White Bear Lake, Mn. (in favor of Radatz
being opened)..
Jerry Markie, 2427 Chisholm Avenue, North St. Paul (in favor of streets
being opened).
Jane St. Onge, 2126 Beam Avenue (in favor of streets remaining closed).

d. Mayor Bruton closed the public hearing.

f. Councilman Anderson moved to table this hearing until November 8, 1976.
Seconded by Councilman Murdock. Ayes - all.
