A. CALL TO ORDER
A special meeting of the City Council of Maplewood, Minnesota, was held at John Glenn
Jr. High School, 1560 E. County Road B and was called to order at 7:33 P.M. by Mayor
Bruton.

C. PUBLIC HEARING
1. Water System - Improvement No. 75 -16
a. Mayor Bruton convened the meeting for a public hearing regarding construction
of water system Improvement No. 75 -16. The Clerk read the notice of hearing along
with the dates of publication.
b. Mr. James Wiley, Kirkham, Michael and Associates, presented the staff report
and also presented the specifics of the improvement.
C. Mayor Bruton stated this hearing is the third of four hearings and he will not
officially close the public hearing. Council will not reach a decision until all
hearings are held.
d. Mayor Bruton called for persons who wished to be heard. The following persons
voiced their opinions:
1. Mr. Bill Diesslin, 2115 English Street;
2. Mr. Marvin Lorge, speaking on behalf of his mother who resides at 2252
English Street;
3. Mr. Dave Harling, 1980 Price Avenue;
4. Mrs. Charles Themmes, Jr., 1928 Castle Avenue;
5. Mrs. Gerke, speaking on behalf of her mother, Mrs. Mathilda Freiseis,
1922 Castle Avenue;
6. Mr. Gary Tankenoff, Hillcrest Development Company;
7. Mr. Leo Christiansen, 2261 No. Hazel Avenue;
8. Mr. Lloyd Neumann, 2155 English Street;
9. Mr. James Pomush, 7 W. Golden Lake Road, owns property in Dearborn Park;
10. Mr. Keith Hanson, 1225 Junction Avenue;
11. Mr. Henry Schuette, 1224 Junction Avenue;
12. Mr. Warren Petersen, 2257 English Street;
13. Mrs. Barbara Freeman, 1360 Belmont Lane;
14. Mrs. Fran Juker, 1965 Barclay Street;

e. Mayor Bruton recessed the meeting and will reconvene the public hearing re-
garding Water System Improvement No. 75 -16 at Hazelwood School, 2696 Hazelwood
Street, July 20, 1976, at 7:30 P.M.
Mayor Bruton made the announcement that the Planning Commission, Community Design Re-
view Board, Parks and Recreation Commission and the Council have been invited to take
a tour of the bike /pedestrian trail in Apple Valley and also to view the "leg" of the
City, particularly development south of Lower Afton Road. The tour has been organized
by the Community Services Office and the Department of Community Development and a
bus will leave City Hall at 8:30 A.M. and return at noon on Saturday, July 17, 1976.
