CALL TO ORDER MINUTES OF MAPLEWOOD CITY COUNCIL 7:30 P.M., Tuesday, July 6, 1976 Edgerton School, 1929 Edgerton St. Meeting No. 76 -20 A special meeting of the City Council of Maplewood, Minnesota, was held at Edgerton School and was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Mayor Bruton. B. ROLL CALL Robert T. Bruton, Mayor Present Norman G. Anderson, Councilman Present John C. Greavu, Councilman Absent Burton A. Murdock, Councilman Present Donald J. Wiegert, Councilman Present C. PUBLIC HEARING 1. Water Improvement - Project No. 75 -16 a. Mayor Bruton convened the meeting for a public hearing regarding construction of: 1. A booster station in the vicinity of Roselawn Avenue and DeSoto Street. 2. Watermain in Flandrau Street from Larp_enteur Avenue to Frost Avenue. 3. Watermain on Frost Avenue from Flandrau Street to Prosperity Street. 4. Watermain on English Street from Frost Avenue to Gervais Avenue. 5. Construction of an elevated storage tank in the vicinity of Cope Avenue and German Street: The Clerk read the notice of hearing along with the dates of publication. b. Mr. James Wiley, Kirkham, Michael and Associates, presented the staff report. c. Mayor Bruton stated this hearing is one of four hearings being held regarding the proposed water system and the hearing tonight pertains to the construction of a Booster ._: Station in the vicinity of Roselawn Avenue and DeSoto Street. d. Mayor Bruton called for persons who wished to be heard for or against the proposal. The following persons presented their views and asked questions: Mr. Roy Barton, 445 E. Roselawn Avenue Mr. F. A. Bucher, 2166 Edgerton Street Mr. Bob Michels, 2228 Burr Street Mr. Hubert Harmon, 2138 Arcade Street Mrs. Valerie Moore, 2006 Edgerton Street Mrs. Darlene Carlson, 1548 Gervais Avenue Mrs. Ed Maslowski, 1915 DeSoto Street Mr. Jessie W. Black, 2005 Greenbrier Street Mr. Bob Handschin, 2029 Edgerton Street Mr. Terry Edington, 2002 Edgerton Street Mr: Bob Swinehart, 2112 Bradley Street Mrs. Betty Olson, 2129 McMenemy Road Mr. Larry Dotte, Dotte Bros., Inc. Mr. Herbert Toenjes, 1966 McMenemy Road Walter Sether, Mrs. Maggie Oscarson, owns property on DeSoto Street Mr. Rick Healy, 375 Roselawn Avenue Mr. John Oscarson, 1973 DeSoto Street Mr. Matt Schreier, 1949 DeSoto Street A resident at Roselawn Avenue and DeSoto Street e. Mayor Bruton stated since this is one of a total of four public hearings, he will not close the public hearing. I. Councilman Anderson moved to table decision pertaining to the con- struction of a Booster Pump Station until all hearings are held. Councilman Anderson withdrew his motion. g. Councilman Anderson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption; 76- 7 -129 WHEREAS, after due notice of public hearing on the construction of (a) A booster station in the vicinity of Roselawn Avenue and DeSoto Street; (b) Watermain in Flandrau Street from Larpenteur Avenue to Frost Avenue; (c) Watermain on Frost Avenue from Flandrau Street to Prosperity Street; (d) Watermain on English Street from Frost Avenue to Gervais Avenue; (e) Construction of an elevated storage tank in the vicinity of Cope Avenue and German Street, A hearing on said improvement in accordance with the notice duly given was duly held on July 6, 1976, and the Council has heard all persons desiring to be heard on the matter and has fully considered the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF MAPLEWOOD, MINNESOTA, as follows: 1. That it is advisable, expedient, and necessary that the City of Maplewood construct a booster station in the vicinity of Roselawn Avenue and DeSoto Street as described in the notice of hearing thereon, and orders the same to be made. - 2 - 7/6 2. The City Engineer is designated engineer for this improvement and is hereby directed to prepare final plans and specifications for the making of said improvement. 3. This improvement is hereby designated to be a part of Project 75 -16. Seconded by Councilman Wiegert. D. ADJOURNMENT 10:15 P.M. Ayes - all.
