A meeting of the Maplewood Board of Appeals and Adjustments was held in the Council
Chambers, Municipal Building and was called to order at 7:47 P.M. by Acting Chairman
Bruton.

C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. Minutes No. 75 -8 (November 13, 1975)
Councilman Wiegert moved to approve the Minutes of Meeting No. 75 -8 (November 13,
1975) as submitted.
Seconded by Councilman Greavu. Ayes - all.
2. Minutes No. 75 -9 (December 11, 1975)
Councilman Greavu moved to approve the Minutes of Meeting No. 75 -9 (December 11,
1975) as submitted.
Seconded by Councilman Anderson. Ayes - all.
D. PUBLIC HEARINGS
1. Sign Variance - Maplewood Animal Hospital - 7:45 P.M.
a. Acting Chairman Bruton convened the meeting for a public hearing regarding
the request for a sign variance at the Maplewood Animal Hospital, 2603 White
Bear Avenue. The Clerk read the notice of hearing along with the dates of public-
ation.
b. Acting Manager Ashworth presented the staff report with the recommendation
that the sign variance be denied due to lack of justification.
c. Board Member Bill Howard presented the following Community Design Review
Board recommendation:
- 1 - 2/19
"Board Member Simkins moved the Board recommend to the Board of Adjustments
and Appeals denial of the sign variance for lack of justification of need and
capability of other alternatives.
Board Member Cody seconded.
Ayes - all."
d. Dr. C. Rosell, the applicant, spoke on behalf of the request.
e. Acting Chairman Bruton called for persons who wished to be beard for or
against the proposal. None were heard.
f. Councilman Greavu moved to approve the sign setback variance as requested
by the Maplewood Animal Hospital, 2603 White Bear Avenue.
Seconded by Councilman Wiegert. Ayes - Acting Chairman Bruton, Council-
men Greavu and Wiegert.
Nays - Councilman Anderson.
(who voted 'nay' because it was
not in conformance with the
ordinance).
Motion carried.
