CALL TO ORDER A meeting of the Board of Appeals and Adjustments of the City of Maplewood, Minnesota, was held in the Council Chambers, Municipal Building and was called to order at 7:34 P.M. by Chairman Murdock. B. ROLL CALL Burton A. Murdock, Chairman Present Norman G. Anderson Present Robert T. Bruton, Acting Chairman Present John C. Greavu Present Donald J. Wiegert Present C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Minutes No. 75 -3 (June 19, 1975) Councilman Greavu moved that the Minutes of Meeting No. 75 -3 (June 19, 1975) be approved as submitted. Seconded by Councilman Wiegert. Ayes - all. i D. PUBLIC HEARINGS 1. Board of Appeals and Adjustments - Variance (Side Yard Setback) - 2204 Mapleview Avenue - 7:30 P.M. a. Chairman Murdock convened the meeting for a public hearing regarding the request of Mr. John E. Nordale, 2204 Mapleview Avenue for a side yard setback variance. The Clerk read the notice of hearing along with the dates of public- ation. b. Commissioner Prew presented the following Planning Commission recommendation: "Commissioner Kent moved as in the past the Planning Commission has encouraged residents to enclose motorized vehicles in a garage, and as the variance is a relatively minor one, it is recommended that the Council approve the variance contingent upon obtaining agreement from the adjacent property owner in writing. Commissioner Kishel seconded. Ayes - all." c. Mr. John Nordale, 2204 E. Mapleview Avenue, the applicant, presented a statement in writing from Dennis and Sharon Newinski, 2198 Mapleview Avenue, stating they "have no objection and give our permission for John and Joanne Nordale to extend their garage to within 4 feet of the lot line ". d. Acting Manager Ashworth stated Council and the applicant had copies of the staff report. The staff recommends denial of the variance. - 1 - 6/26 e. Chairman Murdock called for persons who.wished to be heard for or against the proposal. None were heard. I f. Chairman Murdock closed the public hearing. g. Councilman Greavu moved to approve the side yard setback variance as requested by Mr. John Nordale contingent upon a written agreement from the adjacent property owner. Seconded by Chairman Murdock.
