A. CALL TO ORDER
A special meeting of the City Council of Maplewood, Minnesota, was held in the Council
Chambers, Municipal Building and was called to order at 5:40 P.M. by Mayor Bruton.
The Council signed statements waiving the written notice calling a special meeting as
required by Section 1, Rules of Procedures of the Maplewood City Council.

C. BUSINESS
1. Arbitration
a. Manager Miller presented the award in the matter of arbitration between the City
of Maplewood and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Council
91, Local 2725. It is recommended the award be accepted and the Manager be author-
ized to sign a contract.
b. Councilman Wiegert moved to accept the award of arbitration and to authorize
the signing of a contract.
Seconded by Councilman Murdock.
Councilman Anderson moved to eliminate the first wage level and start with the
"after one year" level and have only three levels.
Seconded by Councilman Greavu.
Motion defeated.
Vote taken on original motion.
Motion carried.
D. PRESENTATIONS
Ayes - Councilmen Anderson and Greavu.
Nays - Mayor Bruton, Councilmen Murdock and
Wiegert.
Ayes - Mayor Bruton, Councilmen Greavu, Murdock
and Wiegert.
Nays - Councilman Anderson.
1. City Attorney Don Lais reported on the Fiscal Disparities ruling that is being
appealed by the Municipalities.
2. Councilman Murdock requested staff to prepare a report on the insurance loss ratio
- 1 - 1/23
for all types of the Cityts insurance.
3. Councilman Anderson requested staff investigate the possibility of in some way
compensating the various City commissions and boards.

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the officials
designated for a bid opening by the City Council of Maplewood was convened
at 10:00 A.M., C.S.T., Tuesday, January 28, 1975. The purpose of this
meeting was to receive, open and publicly read aloud bids for the
construction of Project No. 73 -1 Water Improvements, Booster Station.
Present were B. D. Collier, Wm. C. Cass, James Wiley and Bruce Rickley.
Following the reading of the notice of advertisement for bids, the
following bids were opened and read:

All bids were accompanied by bid bonds.
Pursuant to prior instruction of the Council, the City Clerk referred the
bids received to the City Engineer, B. D. Collier, instructing him to
tabulate same and report with his recommendation at the regular City Council
meeting of February 6, 1975.
Meeting adjourned at 10:15 A.M.
