A special meeting of the Village Council of Maplewood, Minnesota was held in the
Council Chambers, Municipal Building and was called to order at 7:32 P.M. by
Mayor Axdahl.

Lester G. Axdahl, Mayor Present
Sohn C. Greavu, Councilman Present
Harald L. Haugan, Councilman Present
Donald E. Olmstead, Councilman Present
Donald J. Wiegert, Councilman Present
C. PUBLIC HEARING
1. Rehearing - Battle Creek Improvement No. 71 -24 Storm Sewer
a. Mayor Axdahl convened the meeting for a public hearing to rehear Battle
Creek Improvement No. 71 -24 (Storm Sewer). The rehearing is due to public
hearing notice being published only once. Mr. Bill Cass, Engineering Depart-
ment, read the notice of hearing along with the dates of publication.
b. Manager Miller explained the improvement.
c. Mayor Axdahl called for persons who wished to be heard.
Mr. Don Disselkamp, 188 No. Crestview Drive, asked questions of the Council
regarding the project.
d. Mayor Axdahl called for formal objections. None were heard.
e. Mayor Axdahl closed the public hearing.
f. Councilman Wiegert introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption:

WHEREAS:
A. The Village Council of the Village of Maplewood, heretofore conducted
a public hearing on Improvement Project No. 71 -24 (Battle Creek) for the
Village;
B. The notice of said hearing was defective because it was published
only once.
C. To cure said defect, a rehearing on said improvements, pursuant to

proper notice thereof, has been held this date;
r NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of
Maplewood, Minnesota, as follows:
1. It is hereby found, determined and declared that it is expedient and
necessary that said improvements be made.
2. All prior actions taken with respect to said improvements, including
conducting a public hearing thereon, ordering said improvements, approving
final plans and specifications and advertising for construction bids, letting
construction contracts therefor and calling for the sale of improvement bonds
to finance said improvements, are hereby ratified, affirmed and approved.
Seconded_ by Councilman Haugan. Ayes - all.
D. PRESENTATIONS
1. Manager Miller stated the Local 49 had settled their contract. The wage in-
crease is 4.5 %.
Councilman Wiegert
Seconded by Councilman Olmstead. Ayes - all.
2. Manager Miller presented salary schedule for the Administrative and Technical
Employees (previously referred to as Unassociated Employees). The salary increase
would be 4.5 %.
Following further discussion Councilman Haugan moved to
Seconded by Councilman Olmstead.
Motion carried.
