A. CALL TO ORDER
A special meeting of the Village Council of Maplewood, Minnesota was held in the
Council Chambers, Municipal Building and was called to order at 7:35 P.M.
B. ROLL CALL
Lester G. Axdahl, Mayor Present
John C. Greavu, Councilman Present
Harald L. Haugan, Councilman Present
Donald J. Wiegert, Councilman Present
C. PUBLIC HEARING
1. Project No. 69 -15 Kohlman Lane-Sewer-Lift Station 7:30 P.M. (continued)
a. Mayor Axdahl stated this meeting is a continuation of the public hearing
to adopt the assessment roll for the Kohlman Lane Sanitary Sewer and Lift
Station Improvement No. 69 -15. The Council was presented a transcript
of the public hearing for the construction of the project, October 15, 1971.
b. Following discussion of the transcription by the Council, Councilman
Haugan moved that the following rates be adopted for Improvement No. 69 -15.
Sanitary Sewer $10.00 per foot
Sewer Service $180.00 each
Lift Station $235.00 per lot
$750.00 per acre
Seconded by Councilman Wiegert.
D. REQUESTS FOR DEFERRED ASSESSMENTS
Ayes - all.
1. Mr. Jack Anderson, Improvement No. 69 -15 Kohlman Lane Sewer and Lift
Station.
a. Mr. Anderson Withdrew his objection.
2. Mrs. Joan Toetschinger, 1725 Gervais Avenue. Imp. 70 -2 Gervais Avenue Sewer
a. Mr. Toetschiriger requested deferment of her sanitary sewer assessment
for Gervais Avenue Imp. No. 70 -2 because she is financially unable to pay.
b. Councilman Greavu moved to deny the request of Mrs. Toetschinger,
1725 Gervais Avenue for deferment of her sanitary sewer assessment.
Seconded by Councilman Wiegert.
Ayes - all.
3. Annette L. Schwab, Imp. No. 69 -15 Kohlman Lane Sewer and Lift Station.

a. Mrs. Schwab requested deferment and adjustment of her sanitary sewer
assessment. She stated the costs were higher than previously stated and
that some of the land was not buildable at this time.
b. Council stated the adjustment on the cost of the improvement have
been settled.
C. Councilman Wiegert moved to deny Mrs. Schwab's request for deferment
of her sanitary sewer assessment for the Kohlman Lane Imp. No. 69 -15.
Seconded by Councilman Greavu.
Ayes - all.
4. Gordon S. Holmdahl, Stillwater, Minnesota, Imp. No. 69 -19, Lark Avenue Utilities
a. Mr. Holmdahl requested deferment of his assessment, for construction of
Lark Avenue Street and Utilities Imp. No. 69 -19, because of the large amount
of money.
b. Councilman Haugan moved to deny Mr. Holmdahl's request for deferment of
his assessment, Imp. No. 69 -19.
Seconded by Councilman Greavu.
Ayes - all.
5. Mrs. Kathleen Perron, 1971 Gervais Avenue Imp. No. 70 -16, Eleventh Avenue
Utilities.
a. Mrs. Perron requested deferment of her assessments for Eleventh Avenue
Sewer and Water Imp. No. 70 -16 as they create a severe haidsfiip.
b. Mrs. Perron stated her reasons for requesting deferment.
C. Councilman Greavu moved to deny Mrs. Perron's
her assessment, Imp. No. 70 -16.
Seconded by Councilman Wiegert.
Ayes - all.
6. Mr. Witt asked if he could speak on behalf of Mrs. Annette Schwab regarding
her deferment request.
a. Councilman Haugan moved to suspend the Rules of Procedure to hear Mr.
Witt.
Seconded by Councilman Wiegert.
b. Mr. Frank Witt spoke on behalf of Mrs. Annette Schwab. He= >explained
in detail the reasons for the request for deferment.
c. Council took no further action. The request stands as denied.
