B. ROLL CALL Lester G. Axdahl, Mayor Present John C. Greavu, Councilman Present Harald L. Haugan, Councilman Present Patricia L. Olson, Councilwoman Present Donald J. Wiegert, Councilman Present C. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 1. Forest Green Apartment Complex (Phase II) Public Improvements a. Consulting Engineer Kuusisto explained in detail the four alternate plans for the public improvements to service Forest Green Apartments. b. Councilwoman Olson had previously submitted another alternate plan to the Council. c. After considerable discussion, Councilman Wiegert moved to set Thursday, July 8, 1971 for a public hearing on'Alternate Plan A and the Combination - Alternate Plan proposed by Councilwoman Olson for the utilities improvements to serve the Forest Green Complex area. Seconded by Councilman Haugan. Ayes- all. d. Councilman Wiegert moved to amend the previous motion to read "street and utilities" improvements. Seconded by Councilman Haugan. Ayes - all. e. Councilman Wiegert introduced the following resolution and moved its' adoption: 71 -6 -90 WHEREAS, the Village Engineer for the Village of Maplewood has been authorized and directed to prepare preliminary plans for facilities to serve the Forest Green area, which is west of Furness Street and north of Ripley Street, and WHEREAS, the Village Engineer has prepared the aforesaid preliminary plans - 1 - 6/1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MAPLEWOOD, MINNESOTA, as follows: 1. The report of the Village Engineer advising this Council that the proposed facilities to serve the Forest Green area by construction of sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water mains, and street improvements is feasible. 2. The Council will consider the aforesaid improvements in accordance with the reports and the assessment of benefited property for all or a portion of the cost of the improve- ment according to M.S.A. Chapter 429, at an estimated total cost of the improvement of $357,250.00: 3. A public hearing will be hald in the cafetorium of the Maple- wood Junior High School on July 8, 1971, at 7:30 P.M. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Maplewood, Ramsey County, Minnesota deems it necessary and expedient that the improve- ments hereinafter described be made, NOW, THEREFORE,nnotice is given that the Village Council will hold a public hearing on said improvements at the following time and place within the said Village, DATE AND TIME: July 8, 1971 at 7:30 P.M. LOCATION: Cafetorium, Maplewood Jr. High School 2410 East Holloway The general nature of the improvement is as listed below: 1. Water mains and necessary appurtenances on: Ripley Avenue, Furness to Ruth; West side of Forest Green Property, Ripley to Holloway; Holloway Avenue, Furness to 750 feet westerly; Furness Street, Holloway Avenue to 320 feet southerly; 2. Sewer main and necessary appurtenances on: North St. Paul Road and vicinity from Van Dyke Street to Holloway Ave. and on Holloway Ave. from North St. Paul Road to 700 ft. west of Furness and along the west side of Forest Green Property from Holloway to Ripley. Also on Ripley St, alignment from southwest corner of Forest Green Property westerly to Ruth. Also from the southwest corner of Forest Green Property southeasterly to Beebe Road and on Beebe Road southerly to a point 250 ft, north of Larpenteur. - 2 - 6/1 3. Storm sewers and necessary appurtenances along the west side of Forest Green property thence northerly to Holloway Avenue thence westerly along Holloway extended to North St. Paul Road. 4. Street improvement on Beebe Road from Larpenteur Ave. to North Property Line of Forest Green; and on Holloway Ave. from North St. Paul Road easterly to Beebe Road, thence southerly on Beebe Road to the north Forest Green Property line.
