(D) ADJOURNMENT Minutes of Maplewood Village Council 7:00 P.M., Thursday, August 27, 1970 Council Chambers, Municipal Administration Building Meeting No. 70 - 20 A. CALL TO ORDER A Special meeting of the Village Council of Maplewood, Minnesota was held in the Council Chambers Municipal Building and was called to order at 7:08 P.M. by Mayor Axdahl. B. ROLL CALL Lester G. Axdahl, Mayor Present John C. Greavu, Councilman Present Harald L. Haugan, Councilman Present Patricia L. Olson, Councilwoman Present Donald J. Wiegert, Councilman Present C. OLD BUSINESS 1. Building Plans - Doro The Council had been invited to view the development constructed by Doro, located in Hopkins. Members of the Council who had reviewed the development stated their opinions. Mr. Bill Dolan stated the buildings built in Maplewood would differ from the development in Hopkins. There would be fewer units also. Mr. Dolan further discussed with the Council the placing of the units on the property and also the type and color of the materials used in the construction. Councilman Wiegert moved subject to staff conditi subject to the architect e n t and !naering. Seconded by Councilman Greavu. Ayes - all. 2. Contract - Howard, Needles, Tammen and Bergendoff (Conway) a. Manager Miller requested authorization to negotiate with the Engineering Firm of Howard, Needles, Tammen and Bergendoff and enter into a contract for the preliwinary design and final report on the improvements on Conway Avenue between McKnight Road and Century Avenue. There would be progress reports in 3 stages. - 1 - 8 -27 1st stage - 30 Calendar days - 1st progress report. 2nd Stage 120 Calendar days progress reports and final stage - 150 Calendar final report submitted. The cost is based on salary plus 115% of total amount, not to exceed $22,000.00. State funds are not available until an improvement: is.` completed. The majority of the cost will be paid out of the 1971 budget. The Council unanimously agrees to suspend the rules and consider this matter. Councilman Greavu moved authorization for the Manager, Ma or and Clerk to execute the contract between the Village and the Engineering firm of Howard, Needles, Tammen and Bergendoff to prepare feasibility reports for the improvements on Conway Avenue between McKnight Road and Century Avenue. Seconded by Councilman Wiegert. Ayes - all. D. ADJOURNMENT 7:46 P.M. Cit Clerk - 2 - 8 -27
