APPROVAL OF AGENDA Councilmember Allenspach moved to approve the agenda as presented. Councihnember Wasiluk seconded. Ayes -All D. NEW BUSINESS 1. Review of 2001 Leadership Retreat--Executive Summary Goals External Goals by Priority: 1. Better Management of Traffic at and Around Maplewood Mall. t 2. Redevelop the City's Deteriorating Residential and Commercial Properties 3. Provide Increased Housing Diversity 4. Redevelop the Cities Parlcs and Trail Systems 5. Develop a Funding Source for Park Rehabilitation and Community Center Rehabilitation 6. To Improve Overall Communication with the Community 7. To Develop a Strong Infrastructure of Streets, Storm Sewers and Water Internal Goals by Priority: 1. To Develop Long-Range Directions, Goals and Plans for the City 2. To Integrate New Technology Into the Way the City Does its Business 3. To Transition to a Full-Time Fire Department 4. To Increase Communication, Trust and Team Spirit of the Council and Staff 5. To Adapt to the Increasing Diversity of the Community 2. Update on the South Office Service Center The Council had requested a survey be completed by residents about their use of the South Service Center. City Manager Fursman explained his staff was trying to determine the best resource tool to use to get the most accurate statistical results. The City Council will ultimately need to decide whether or not the South Service Center, in its present form, is financially beneficial to the city and its residents. City Manager Fursman suggested if it remains open, it become an extension of the City Clerk's Office. E. FUTURE TOPICS 1. Exploring the Possibilities of a Sister City 2.
