Summary:
Maplewood Precincts 1 and 2 polling location was moved to St Paul Hmong Alliance Church for the
August Primary as the regular location of Edgerton Elementary School gym was not available due to
construction. Completed construction allows the polling location to switch back to Edgerton Elementary
for future elections, beginning with the November General Election.
Recommended Action:
Motion to approve the resolution designating Edgerton Elementary School at 1929 Edgerton Street N
as the polling location for Precincts 1 and 2.

Background:
Edgerton Elementary renovations made the gym unavailable to serve as the primary election polling
location for Precinct 1 and Precinct 2. The city appreciates that St Paul Hmong Alliance Church agreed
to serve as the polling location for these precincts for the August Primary.
The renovations will be completed by November and Edgerton Elementary will again be available to be
the polling location for Precinct 1 and Precinct 2 for future elections. Ramsey County will be mailing out
postcards to notify voters of this change in location in time for the November General Election. No other
polling location changes are required.

RESOLUTION DESIGNATING POLLING PLACE LOCATION FOR PRECINCTS 1 AND 2
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 204B.16, subd 1 requires the city council, by ordinance
or resolution, to designate any changes to polling place locations for the upcoming year; and
WHEREAS, notification was received in March 2026 that Edgerton Elementary School
gym, the polling location for both Precinct 1 and Precinct 2, was unavailable during the 2026
August Primary Election; and
WHEREAS, St. Paul Hmong Alliance Church agreed to serve as the polling location for
the 2026 State Primary Election; and
WHEREAS, the Edgerton Elementary School gym is again available to serve as a
polling location for future elections, beginning with the 2026 State General Election; and
WHEREAS, the city wishes to return to the regular location wh is more suitable and
familiar to voters.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the city council of the city of Maplewood
hereby designates the following polling place location for elections conducted in the city:
Precinct 1 Edgerton Elementary School
1929 Edgerton Street N
Precinct 2 Edgerton Elementary School
1929 Edgerton Street N
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the city clerk is authorized to designate a
replacement meeting the requirements of the Minnesota Election Law for any polling place
location designated in this resolution that becomes unavailable for use by the city;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the city clerk is authorized to designate an
emergency replacement polling place location meeting the requirements of the Minnesota
Election Law for any polling place location designated in this resolution when necessary to
ensure a safe and secure location for voting;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the city clerk is directed to send a copy of this
resolution and any subsequent polling place location designations to the Ramsey County
Elections Office;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the city clerk is directed to post a notice of the
polling place location changes in the clerkâs office.
