CITY OF MAPLEWOOD
ENVIRONMENTAL AND NATURAL RESOURCES COMMISSION

1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Saunders-Pearce called a meeting of the Environmental and Natural
Resources Commission to order at 6:04 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
Rebecca Bryan, Commissioner Absent
Joanne Cryer, Vice-Chairperson Absent
Benjamin Guell, Commissioner Absent
David Lates, Commissioner Present
Ted Redmond, Commissioner Absent as a Commission Representative,
but Present as a Speaker for the Climate
Mitigation Plan
Wes Saunders-Pearce, Chairperson Present
There was not a quorum present at the meeting. The meeting was held to allow the
draft Climate Mitigation Plan presentation to move forward. No official votes or decisions
were made during the meeting.

3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Chair Saunders-Pearce acknowledged items on the agenda.
4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
a. January 14, 2026
The January 14, 2026, minutes were tabled until the April 11, 2026,
Environmental and Natural Resources Commission meeting.
b. February 11, 2026
The February 11, 2026, minutes were tabled until the April 11, 2026,
Environmental and Natural Resources Commission meeting.
5. NEW BUSINESS
a. Draft Climate Mitigation Plan
Shann Finwall, Sustainability Coordinator, introduced the subject.

Ted Redmond, paleBLUEdot, LLC, reviewed and presented the draft Climate
Mitigation Plan.
The Commissioners thanked the consultants, Climate Mitigation Plan Team, and
City staff that worked on the draft plan. The Commission reminded residents
watching the presentation that the draft plan is open for public comment until
April 1.
Sustainability Coordinator Finwall stated that the final plan will be presented to
the Environmental and Natural Resources Commission on May 13 and the City
Council on June 8.

Shann Finwall, Sustainability Coordinator, updated the Environmental and Natural
Resources Commission on the following:

1) Bluebird Monitoring – March 19, 7 to 8:30 p.m., Maplewood Nature
Center
2) Spring Clean Up – April 25, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Aldrich Arena
3) Waterfest – May 30, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Phalen Lakeside Activity Center
b. Environmental and Natural Resources Commission Calendar
