4. Approval of Minutes:
a. April 29, 2010
Commissioner Palkovich moved to approve the minutes for April 29, 2010.
Commissioner Liddell seconded the motion.
Ayes: All
5. New Business
a. Review and approve backgrounds for police officer candidates
and certify names for vacancy
The commissioners went over the candidates. Chief Thomalla was available
to answer questions.
Commissioner Liddell motioned to approve and accept the background report
for candidate #31. Commissioner Palkovich seconded the motion.
Ayes: All
Commissioner Liddell motioned to certify the name of candidate #31 for the
vacancy. Commissioner Palkovich seconded the motion.
Ayes: All
Commissioner Palkovich motioned to approve and accept the background
report for candidate #32. Commissioner Liddell seconded the motion.
Ayes: All
Commissioner Liddell motioned to certify the name of candidate #32 or the
vacancy. Commissioner Palkovich seconded the motion.

Commissioner Palkovich gave words of appreciation to Sergeant Joe
Bergeron and hopes that this community understands how dangerous this job
is.
9. Staff Presentations
Chief Thomalla informed the commission that the latest hires for the Police
Department were Officer Aaron Slinger and Officer Katie Lynch who are both
in their field training process and doing very well. Sergeant Mike Nye was
acting sergeant and as of May 1st to Sergeant. Scott Langner is serving as
acting sergeant as there is still a sergeant out on extended medical leave.

FROM: Terrie Rameaux, Human Resource Coordinator/Staff Liaison
SUBJECT: Review and Approve Backgrounds for Police Officer Candidates and
Certify Names for Vacancies
DATE: November 8, 2010
Police Chief Thomalla is requesting that the Commission review and approve the
attached completed background investigations on candidates #33 and #38. Upon
review and approval, he requests the Commission certify the names of these
candidates. These are the two remaining candidates on the current eligibility list which
expires November 19, 2010.
Recommend review, approval and certification of police officer candidates #33 and #38.
