ADJOURNMENT RULES OF CIVILITY FOR THE CITY COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND OUR COMMUNITY Following are rules of civility the City of Maplewood expects of everyone appearing at Commission Meetings - elected officials, staff and citizens. It is hoped that by following these simple rules, everyone’s opinions can be heard and understood in a reasonable manner. We appreciate the fact that when appearing at Commission meetings, it is understood that everyone will follow these principles: Speak only for yourself, not for other Commission members or citizens - unless specifically tasked by your colleagues to speak for the group or for citizens in the form of a petition. Show respect during comments and/or discussions, listen actively and do not interrupt or talk amongst each other. Be respectful of the process, keeping order and decorum. Do not be critical of Commission members, staff or others in public. Be respectful of each other’s time keeping remarks brief, to the point and non-repetitive. MINUTES MAPLEWOOD PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION 6:00p.m., January 17, 2024 Wednesday, January 17, 2024 Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes A.CALL TO ORDER A meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission was called to order by Chairperson Mallet at 6:00 p.m. B.ROLL CALL Commissioners Craig Brannon, Commissioner Absent Vickie Lee-Her, Commissioner Present Monica Barton, Commissioner Present Terri Mallet, Chair Present Mark Harris, Commissioner Absent Kimii Porter, Commissioner Absent Jason DeMoe, Commissioner Present Staff Audra Robbins, Parks and Recreation Manager Present C.APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Commissioner Lee-Her made a motion to approve the agenda. Seconded by Commissioner DeMoe.Ayes – All The motion passed. D.APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1.October 18, 2023 Commissioner Barton made a motion to approve the November 15, 2023 Parks and Recreation Commission minutes. Seconded by Commissioner Lee-Her. Ayes – All The motion passed. E.NEW BUSINESS 1.AMPACT Member Update Audra Robbins, Parks & Natural Resources Manager, introduced Dani Lemire, the AMPACT member who has been with the City for the previous year. Dani D-1 Wednesday, January 17, 2024 Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes provided an update about her projects over her time with the City. Commission members asked Dani questions. 2.2024 Parks and Recreation Commission Goal Setting Audra Robbins, Parks and Natural Resources Manager, discussed/reviewed the 2023 goals with the commission. Audra turned over the 2024 goal setting to the commission for discussion. F.UNFINISHED BUSINESS: 1.Student PRC member update Audra gave an update on the student PRC member application process. G.VISITOR PRESENTATIONS H.COMMISSION PRESENTATIONS I.STAFF PRESENTATIONS 1.Department Updates Audra Robbins updated the council on the upcoming events. Including the 4H class, winter photo contest, tree sale, volunteer program, multiple in house nature type training classes J.ADJOURNMENT Commissioner DeMoe made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Commissioner Barton.Ayes – All The motion passed.
