This means that the Purple BRT project which is Federal funding dependent cannot service Century as the end terminus and no routes from this line can be directed to Century. I share our community's deep disappointment in this outcome, but I must acknowledge we made an extremely strong case. After all of this, in the end, the decision was made with federal formulas that do not consider the real needs, and our numbers could not get us there. Metro Transit also shared that through the BRT Route Modification Study, you were instrumental in articulating our mobility and accessibility needs very clearly, as well as our desire and need for more and better transit service. Metro Transit acknowledges your voices were clear in making our needs and desires known. Also shared, Metro Transit will continue to work with us and other partners to explore options outside of the current BRT project. I did not respect the request from Metro Transit to hold communication to you as I felt an obligation to share this information directly with you prior to any public information being shared on this project as it relates to Century. Over the next few weeks more will be made public about next steps for the Purple Line BRT project, and I will not get ahead of their messaging. Given this information, I have canceled the Board of Trustees item for the March agenda as well. Century, we will not despair, this outcome may slow us, but not stop us. Instead, we will keep the momentum going and continue to make our voices heard regarding our transportation needs for our students and greater community. I want to thank all of you for your efforts. Feel free to reach out to Metro Transit and Met Council so that they know their work is not done until they take action to address transportation needs for Century College. Thank you always for your support. CENTUj y ti0llu0iuuiii President, Century iege u 0lhmuiuim:1une Illdmuiuimg Assuis'lauimt 651 779 334
