ROLL CALL Commissioners Chair Peter Boulay Present Vice Chair Richard Currie Present Commissioner Bob Cardinal Present Commissioner Margaret Fett Present Commissioner John Gaspar Present Council Member Sylvia Neblett Present Staff Assistant City Manager, Mike Sable Present B. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Additional items for Bruce Vento Regional Trails and parking signage at the Barn Motion by Fett, Second by Currie Ayes – All The motion passed. C. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. August 13, 2020 – As amended (fixing the dates on the bottom) Motion by Currie, Second by Gaspar as amended Ayes – All The motion passed. D. NEW BUSINESS 1. Ramsey County Poor Farm Barn Discussion Update – Ramsey County staff will be available at October meeting to discuss their work plans and explain the process. Todd Stahl and John Felipe are the main contacts. Thursday, September 10, 2020 Heritage Preservation Commission Meeting Minutes 2. 2021 Goals Process Group discussed benefits of having 8-10 smaller items or 1-2 larger items to research and report out. Consensus was to have fewer, larger items on the goals list each year. Members brainstormed possible topic areas. 3. New Commission Member Update City Council is interviewing candidates at their September 28, 2020 meeting. New Member on- boarding was also brought up for consideration. E. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 1. Heritage Preservation Award Direction to present the 2019 Award to Judge Gary Bastian at the next in-person City Council meeting. (Note, it’s likely to be November 9, 2020) 2. Lookout Sign Update Lookout Park signage has been ordered from Image 360. It’s being installed once it arrives. 3. Update – Bruce Vento Trail Historic Designation Commissioner Currie updated Commission on his talks with Ramsey County staff. 4. Barn Signage Discussion only. To be placed on the next agenda. F. VISITOR PRESENTATIONS 1. MAHS Discussion only. Red Barn Sale is October 4th. G. COMMISSION PRESENTATION H. STAFF PRESENTATIONS I. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Gaspar made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Fett Ayes – All The motion passed. The meeting was adjourned at 8:03 p.m. Next meeting is October 8, 2020
