MAPLEWOOD HERITAGE PRESERVATION COMMISSION

A. CALL TO ORDER
A meeting of the Heritage Preservation Commission was held in the City Hall Council
Chambers and called to order by Chair Boulay at 7:04 p.m.

C. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA
Commissioner Axtman made a motion to approve the agenda.
No Second Ayes – All
The motion passed.
D. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. March 14, 2019
Commissioner Fett made a motion to approve the March 14, 2019 Heritage
Preservation Commission minutes as amended.
Seconded by Vice Chair Currie Ayes – All
The motion passed.
E. NEW BUSINESS
1. Conducting City Business & Public Meetings Presentation
Melinda Coleman, City Manager, gave a presentation to the commission about
how to conduct city business and public meetings.
2. Old Town Hall History Presentation
Bob Jensen, MAHS, presented the commission with some information on the
history of the New Canada Town Hall.

3. Gold Line BRT Integrity Analysis Review
Ginny Gaynor, Natural Resources Coordinator, updated the commission on the
schedule and progress of the Gold Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).
F. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
G. VISITOR PRESENTATIONS
1. MAHS
Bob Jensen, MAHS, updated the commission on upcoming events being held at
the Bruentrup Heritage Farm.
H. COMMISSION PRESENTATION
1. Frost Avenue Building Dates
Commissioner Gaspar gave a presentation to the commission to document the
dates that the businesses on Frost Avenue were built.
I. STAFF PRESENTATIONS
1. Update on Designating Ramsey County Cemetery
Ginny Gaynor, Natural Resources Coordinator, updated the commission on the
progress of having the Ramsey County Cemetery designated as a historic site.
J. ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Gaspar made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
Seconded by Commissioner Fett Ayes – All
The motion passed.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:46 p.m.
