A meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission was held in the City Hall Council Chambers and called to order by Vice Chair Roman at 6:00 p.m. C. ROLL CALL Commissioners Commissioner Craig Brannon Present Commissioner Terri Mallet Present Chair Dorothy Molstad Absent Commissioner Nikki Villavicencio Present Commissioner Kimii Porter Absent Vice Chair Bruce Roman Present Student Commissioner Jack Kuchenmeister Present Staff Parks and Recreation Manager, Audra Robbins Present D. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Commissioner Brannon made a motion to approve the agenda. Seconded by Commissioner Mallet Ayes – All The motion passed. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. March 20, 2019 Commissioner Villavicencio made a motion to approve the March 20, 2019 Parks and Recreation Commission minutes. Seconded by Commissioner Porter Ayes – All The motion passed. E. NEW BUSINESS 1. Gaga Ball Court Eagle Scout Project Justin Kuchenmeister, Boy Scout Troop 9515, gave a presentation to the commission about his idea for an Eagle Scout project in a Maplewood park. 2. Wakefield Park Playground Replacement Wednesday, May 15, 2019 Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes Commissioner Brannon made a motion to approve the Wakefield Playground replacement as presented. Seconded by Commissioner Villavicencio Ayes – All The motion passed. F. UNFINISHED BUSINESS G. VISITOR PRESENTATIONS H. COMMISSION PRESENTATION 1. Commissioner Brannon led a discussion regarding a community member request to add a sand volleyball court to one of the parks. I. STAFF PRESENTATIONS 1. Department Update Audra Robbins, Parks and Recreation Manager, updated the commission on changes within the Parks & Recreation Department. 2. Tennis Courts Audra Robbins, Parks and Recreation Manager, gave an update to the commission on the status of tennis courts in the City of Maplewood. 3. Wakefield Park Improvements Audra Robbins, Parks and Recreation Manager, gave an update to the commission on the progress at Wakefield Park. 4. Adopt-A-Park Audra Robbins, Parks and Recreation Manager, shared information about a recent Adopt-A-Park clean-up done at Wakefield Park by Troop 461. 5. Programming Update Audra Robbins, Parks and Recreation Manager, updated the commission on upcoming programs and events. J. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Brannon made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Mallet Ayes – All The motion passed.
