CALL TO ORDER A meeting of the Commission was held in the City Hall Council Chambers and was called to order at 7:03 p.m. by Chairperson Deeny. B. ROLL CALL Commissioners Annastacia Belladonna-Carrera Commissioner Absent Jon Brandt Commissioner Absent Sarah Deeny Chairperson Present Marie Garza Commissioner Present Sokunthea Soeun Commissioner Present Amy Stedman Commissioner Present Staff Liaison Paul Schnell Police Chief Present C. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Commissioner Garza moved to approve the agenda as submitted. Seconded by Commissioner Stedman. Ayes – All The motion passed. D. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1.Approval of the July 6, 2015 HRC Minutes Commissioner Stedman moved to approve the July 6, 2015 HRC Minutes as submitted. Seconded by Commissioner Garza. Ayes – All The motion passed. E. NEW BUSINESS 1.Human Rights in the News - Review/Update on Upcoming Forums/Report onForums or Meetings Attended or Other Related HR Issues Chairperson Deeny reported on the recent news regarding the increase of minimum wage law to $9 per hour. HRC Packet Page 1 of 2 2.Discussion on Employee Authority in Immigration Matters Chief Schnell presented city ordinances from the City of Minneapolis and the City of Saint Paul. Commissioner Garza recommended bringing in people who work on this issue and those who are affected by this issue to talk about it to develop a policy help police officers enforce with respect. Chief Schnell recommended in bringing in people from both sides to have an open discussion on this issue for the next meeting. All agreed. F. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 1.Update on body on police body worn camera data temporary classification application Chief Schnell reported that he brought this matter to the City Council, and the City Council supported and allowed them to seek an application for a temporary classification of body-worn camera data.
