CALL TO ORDER A meeting of the Heritage Preservation Commission was held in the City Hall Council Chambers and called to order by Vice Chair Currie at 7:00p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Commissioners Chairperson Peter Boulay Present Commissioner Robert Creager Absent Commissioner Richard Currie Present Commissioner John Gaspar Present Commissioner Frank Gilbertson Present Commissioner Leonard Hughes Present Commissioner Brenda Rudberg Present Staff Natural Resources Coordinator, Ginny Gaynor Present 3. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Commissioner Currie added Agenda Item 5c. Gladstone Redevelopment Meeting and Agenda Item 6b. Parkside Fire Station. Natural Resources Coordinator, Ginny Gaynor, added Agenda Item 10e. Elections for Chair and Vice Chair in May. Chair Boulay moved to approve the agenda as amended. Seconded by Commissioner Gilbertson Ayes – All The motion passed. 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES a. February 13, 2014 HPC Meeting Commissioner Currie moved to approve the February 13, 2014 minutes. Seconded by Commissioner Gilbertson Ayes – All Thursday, April 10, 2014 Heritage Preservation Commission Meeting Minutes Abstain – Chair Boulay, Commissioner Hughes The motion passed. 5. NEW BUSINESS a. Gladstone Phase II Improvements Kimberly Horn Landscape Architect, Todd H. presented an overview on Gladstone Phase II. Commissioners asked questions and provided input on the Gladstone Phase II Improvements. b. Subcommittee Reports i. Business Award ii. Local Designations iii. City Minutes c. Gladstone Redevelopment Meeting Commissioner Currie presented a summary of the Gladstone Redevelopment Meeting. 6. OLD BUSINESS a. Historic Context Study i. Report on Consultants Meeting with MAHS ii. Report on Meeting with Peter Boulay and Consultant iii. Update on Progress b. Parkside Frustration Commissioner Currie requested staff to investigate whether there are any restrictions on the fire station being sold. 7. VISITOR PRESENTATIONS a. 8. MAPLEWOOD AREA HISTORICAL SOCIETY UPDATE Bob Jensen updated the commission on the upcoming events that the Maplewood Area Historical Society will be offering. 9. COMMISSION PRESENTATIONS a. Maplewood Drive-In, Chair Peter Boulay 10. STAFF PRESENTATIONS a. Grant for Annual Conference b. Throwback Thursday Twitter Postings c. Historic Photos from Kohl’s d. Paperless Meetings e. Elections for Chair and Vice Chair in May Thursday, April 10, 2014 Heritage Preservation Commission Meeting Minutes 11. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Currie moved to adjourn the meeting.
