Dear -
The Maplewood Human Relations Commission is proud to sponsor the
1995 Diversity Awareness Award. This year the Diversity
Awareness Award will be offered in conjunction with a Diversity
Awareness Poster Contest. On behalf of the Maplewood Human
Relations Commission, I invite your school to submit an
application for participation in either or both programs.
The Diversity Awareness Award recognizes students and/or
educators of elementary and secondary schools for efforts to
demonstrate an awareness of diversity in our society. The
Diversity Poster Contest will provide an opportunity for
elementary aged students to express their insight on diversity in
an artistic manner.
Both projects are a cooperative venture with the Commission, City
Council and local schools which provides an opportunity for
educators to incorporate diversity into the curriculum.
I have enclosed rules for the Diversity Awareness Award and
Diversity Poster Contest. An application form, which must
accompany the submission, is also included. The award recipient
and winner of the poster contest will be recognized at your
school .
