The March 8th meeting r✓as called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairperson I'at Williamson.
II A.�enda Approval
1'he March 8th Agenda was approved as read.
III. Approval of Minutes
The February 1 st miz�utes. were approved with the follc�wing correction Shelly Strauss
should have been rec�rd�d as excused versus absent.
IV. nld 13usiness:
A) Election of Of}icers
Thc; electipn o� oflicers was postponed in January and �'ebruary due to lack of quorum.
l) Ch�urperson- Shelly Strauss and Marie Koehler were nominated for Chairperson.
After two ballots ending in ties, Shelly withdrerx� &om consideration. An unanirnous ballot
was cast Cor Marie TCoehler for Chairperson..
2) Vice-Chaitperson- Gordon Heininger was nominated as Vice-Chairperson for an
additional term. An uaarumous ballot was cast for Gordon Heininger as Vice-
Chairperson.
3) Secretary- Carol Cude was nominated as Secretary. An unanimous vote was cast for
Carol Cude as Secretary.

B) Annual Re��ort
The HItC revi �wed the first draft of the 1993 A�uival Report. Sheri Le will incorpo��.:tc
changes fot• th�: final draft.
C) kollow-Up: Regional Meeting

'1'he City of'Mapiewood will be hosting one of the first of several workshops sponsor�:d hy
the League of MN FIItC's entitled: "Mobilizing the Community to Counter and Prevent
1 fate Crime;s through tiie Creation of a Statewide 1�'etwork." The workshop will be h�ld
on 3/16/9�4 from 4-6 P.M. Pat suggested that each of the HRC members contact 2-3
neighboring City Manager's Of�ices to personally invite them to attend. Pat will call board
rnembers with their phone assignments.
D) Uistributio�i of'HateBias Posters
Uordon suggested that a letter from the HRC be sent to ernployers in Maplewood t�
accompany 8 x� 1 posters. The letter is to accomplish two purposes: 1) to introduce the
HRC and i�.s ftanction and 2) to ask empinXerS t,n hang_pn�ters_onitc_cnrnpan�c h�illc�tin..

A) League af NtN �iRC
Pat reque�ted t��at the City of Maplewood host the League's meeting on Saturday,
November 19th, 1994. She also asked league memt�ers to t�.ssist in promotion of the
regional and aruival meetings. One of which is to be held Saturday Septernber 24th at the
k�rain C,oyle Comttiunity Centcr in Mpls. No resolution has been reached re�arding na-
fault prievance/meciiation training.
B) Gity of' Maplewood
Sheri handed out an additional application for the HRC.

VIIA (insert) Interview Commission Applicants
HRC members met with the followin� three candidates for the remaining vacancy; Vicki
Jo Sefiger, Viarna Gerke and Gail Schiff, A question and answer session followed. The
applicants were then excused from the meeting. HRC members commented on the qualiry
of applieants and the difficulty of selecting one for recommendation. After thorough
discussion, HRC voted to recommend Gail Schiffto fill the vacancy. Marie will contact
tlie applicants to inform thenn of our recommendation will be forwarded to Maplewood
City (;ouncil.
