The meeting was called to order at 7_OS pm by Chai.r Marie Koehler. M�uie announced that she
haci to leave early as she had a class to attend in 11�in.neapolis. Gordy chaired a#�er she left_

Old Business
Commanit�Event: Marie talked wrth a member of "Soul's Journey" and they are ava�able for
a performance on some d.�tes in May aud June. '1'hey asked for a small honorariam. T'he pro�am
doesn`t attack bias and bate but shows dif�erences and si.mn7arities betweem people_ The praaram
is about 2 hours long, inciuding a break
Gordy �'�ested we invite I�2o�ed Blood Theater to do their production of "Eastern Parade."
We discussed }�aving two productions dwing the next year, one in the falI and one in later wiuter
or spring. The question of whether a story teller (Soul's Journey) who's unknown in Maplewood
would draw a crowd We decided to invite "Saul`s Tourney" to perform at the community event
on May I7_ A motion was made, moved, seconded and passed to pay t.�zem a$75 honorari� tm
F3�_e_Crnnes R�on�se: We discussed Gordy's proposal and aiso the letters from the police chief
and the comm;�.t-ioa The wording in the letters needs to be similar and a su�estion was made to
send the revisions to Marie and the police chie£ Gordy's proposal w-ill be typed and re-submitted
at the May meeting for firrther discussion
(,�en House- The city-wide open house is May 17, 5-8 pm Any brochuzes and patnphlets from
Iast year w�l be set out. We w11 enlarge pictures taken at the aw-�rcis events and have them on
display around our booth; we w11 select which ones we vs�11 use at the May meeting. gey cbains
will be handed out. Sh� assignments w�l also be made at the May meet.mg.
New �usiness
F�edback on Awa,rds C�remortX Mayor C'rary Bacn_an, Iv.�arie and Gordy attended the awards
ceremony at Edgerton School on March 27. Marie reported thai the ldds were very excited for
each one who got a certificate and for the school receiving the �500 Some of the children who

The award ceremonies for the poster coniest are: Tues., Apr. I 1 at Mounds �'ark and Tues., Agr_

Feedback on Ar�rrua.l Re�ort• The anrn.ial report was preseuted to the city counc�l in late March.
The ma.yor stressed our conne�on with the schooLs/educational system and felt that t]-ae
commurEity event was a good ide�
New rr�embers- Linda Wainio and Regi.n,a Larouche-Theone were approved for membership at the
March 27 city council meeting. We beartily welcome thern!
