Business Meeting November 6 , 1980
Present: Pat Williamson, Sister Claire Lynch, Earl Marlow,
Robert Williamson, Maria Larsen
Minutes of October 7 , 1980 approved as mailed.
Correspondence : Letter to New Brighton HRC accepting invitation
to join them in a study of police sensitivity
training read into the record.
Letter to Dr. Woodworth asking for his help in
the informal "census" of our Indochinese community
residents read into the record.
Appointments: Motion Sister Claire Lynch and Pat Williamson
to be formally introduced to the Council November
20th for appointment to the MHRC. Ayes all
Joan Kallinen has had to remove herself from the
MHRC as her husband has been transferred out of
town and they are in the process of moving.
Indochinese Resident Survey: Chair made a couple of calls to Dr.
Woodworth and then was asked to
put the request in writing. This was done. We
are attempting to involve the Indochinese students
within School District #622 in locating families
who may be in need of help. No action as of meeting
date. Further report on December 2nd.
Familial Housing: Peter Fischer had the topic; unable to be present
this evening. Tabled till next business meeting.
Commission Brochure: Discussion on the merits of such a brochure
and the type of mailing it would involve .
Motion: Chair draft copy for the MAPLEWOOD IN
MOTION incorporating "No Fault Grievance
Procedure" information and future goals and
objectives . Ayes all .
Pat Williamson offered her help in the drafting.
State Dept of HR: The League of Minnesota .Human Rights Commissions
will co-host a banquet for local commissioners
who have been certified under the "No Fault
Grievance Procedure" Process .
The State will hold ongoing workshops for new
Commissioners certification in the Procedure.
They will send out a letter to the local commissions

The No Fault Grievance Procedure is now being amplified
to specify the training of all Commissioners who sit
on the boards of the Cities that have signed the "Procedure"
as opposed to "a couple of Commissioners" being so trained.
Next Meeting December 2 , 1980 - Kitchen - City Hall .
