February 12, 1985

Request to, add two items to agenda: Under Old Business - Handicap Accessibility Study
and under New Business - Officers for 1985
Minutes of January 8, 1985 approved.
Pat will send a letter to Ron Heimerl regarding his attending commission meetings.
Pat will write an introductory letter for the annual report. Will ask for budget in-
formation from city hall. She will put together a budget if not available from city.
No information available on the January League meeting. Will table until next meeting.
Regarding the No Fault Grievance claim - unable to contact the grievant. Pat sent the
form on to the State and will keep a copy for file.
Maria will follow-up on another charge with a letter. Sister Claire to check with Maria
for further information.
The League is finalizing the Training Critique.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Jim Haynes by Pat.
OLD BUSINESS -
Scott met with Barry Evans, Maplewood City Manager, to see what has been done with the
Accessibility Study. The Tran3i "i on Plan - Option 3 - Recommended Voluntary Measures
:;o Improve Accessibility - - - has been done. This should be published in the
publication "Maplewood in Motion" for the community to be aware of what has been done.
Sue will check with the Planning Commission regarding new city hall and accessibility.
Scott will write letter to the City regarding job application form.
He would appreciate any ideas from the commission members for incorporating in the letter.
The members reviewed the city job application and noted several discriminatory questions
on the application.
NEW BUSINESS -
Operating consensus was to continue with the same officers for 1985.
Pat will send a letter to Dr. Richard St.Germain of School Dist. 622 to congratulate him
on his appointment and remind him of the curriculum item re: the No Fault Grievance Policy.
Note. . . .Sister Claire is being honored Saturday, February 16th at St. Benedict's College,
by having a hall named in her honor. She served as their"Proeident for 9 years.
Pat t cei:'ed a lcttcr from the Minn. Dept. c: Human Rights informing us a settlement to
a large class action case against U. S. Steel Corporation. The allegations were refusa.:!
of employment because of disability.
