No report from League board meeting. Human Rights Award Much discussion; need to assess where we should put emphasis . Someone in the community? Define a "ministry" vs action on behalf of human rights. What kinds of services would be the types of services that are extraordinary or badly needed in this area (identify by need (s) ) . Contact Voluntary Action Center for brochure and forms. Check with Bloomington to see what they have done and how they did it. Tell them we are thinking of giving an award/recognize someone in our community and give visibility to our commission. What help can you give us? Forms? Criteria/methods? Tom Kuster would also be of help here. Old Business No Fault Grievance training. Three of our members have signed up but have heard nothing from the State . Commissioner Linda Johnson, State Department of Human Rights was on the air. NO backlog of cases . Motion: Congratulate the Commissioner and the staff for a job well done. Approved. (tell her about HR award and what we are trying to do) . Ask the Chair to write article for HR Day Observance; 1. should point out the significance of the day to our community and ask them to participate in the "celebration" and 2. Inform on role of the commission and our NFG function. NFG Case Update Rostron: August. 3M employee; age discrimination.
