Pepper’s Bar and Grill, 930 Helena Ave. N., Oakdale. Mr. Simon will be speaking on Voter Suppression and how to keep open/honest elections. All are welcome to attend. Participants buy their own lunch and are eligible for a door prize. Fish Creek Trail grand opening The grand opening for the new Fish Creek Trail will be held June 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Fish Creek Natural Area at the corner of Henry Lane and Carver Avenue in Maplewood. Arrive at 6:30 and hike to the bluff top for the 7:00 ribbon cutting. Some of the fun and activities for families and adults include: hiking the trail through prairie and woodland, meeting some of the partners that helped preserve and restore this special place, catching and releasing pollinators with Maplewood naturalists and enjoying a pollinator snack. Some activities especially for the kids include taking a photo with Ella the bee, making a simple butterfly kite and maybe even winning a prize for playing Habitat Bingo. Lake Elmo Farmers Market Opens June 24 The Lake Elmo Farmers Market will begin their 3rd season on Saturday June 24. The market will be Saturdays from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. running June 24 through Sept. 9 in the Lake Elmo Elementary School parking lot at 11030 Stillwater Blvd N. The market features a number of local vendors offering chiropractic health assessments & massages, honey, vegetables, baked goods, gluten free, canned goods, flowers and crafts. For more information contact Jill 651-779-839 or visit us at www.facebook.com/lakeelmofarmersmarket Wellness walk in the Oakdale Nature Preserve Join Oakdale Wellness 50+ and walk the Oakdale Nature Preserve trails with a certified personal trainer as we learn to use the six new exercise stations with our age group in mind. Also, we will offer the Rikli- Jones senior fitness evaluations. The walk will be Thursday, June 29, at 5:30 p.m. at the Oakdale Discovery Center, 4444 Hadley Ave. Oakdale Wellness 50+ is a volunteer effort in our community to support health and fitness for our citizens age 50 and older.
