Minutes of Meeting - City Hall
April 7, 1987

No Fault Grievance Training
Commissioners Sand and Williamson attended a four-hour training
session on Saturday , April 4, at Maplewood Jr High School . Presented
by Kathy Hupalo from the Minnesota Dept . of Human Rights, the session
reviewed the law, the No-Fault Process, and referral . Participants
viewed a videotape and engaged in role-playing. Manuals were
distributed to participants and also made available for other
certified Commission members.
During discussion about NFG, Commissioner Sand suggested contacting
Maplewood's largest employer , 3M, to explain how the Commission works
with the process and encourage publicizing and disseminating
information among their employees. A letter will be drafted for
action at the next meeting.
Membership
Three vacancies need to be filled. Potential member Chu Kim will be
invited to the next meeting. Dorothy Hejny's name was also mentioned.
Minutes
Minutes of the January and February meetings were approved as
presented.
Housing and Redevelopment Authority Commission (HRA)
HRA Commission Chair Lorraine Fischer had contacted Commissioner
Rostron concerning a replacement for C. Kwapick . Might possibly
recommend a person who would be willing to serve on both HRC and HRA.
D. Hejny will be contacted.
Annual Report
Will actually cover a two-year period: 1985-86. Considerable time was
spent reviewing minutes for the two-year period and discussing
activities to gather relevant information . Commissioner Williamson
will prepare a draft of the report for the next meeting. Members will
provide input and make any changes to finalize report .

New Business
Commissioner Lynch reported on steps taken to inform her classes of
seniors about legislation and lobbying, and how to contact their own
legislators.
